Plot The spread of a new strain of coronavirus “omicron”

783 cases of infection with omicron have been detected in the country, 53% of them are in Moscow, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said on Friday.

She said that over the past five days, the incidence of coronavirus has increased in 37 regions. The authorities attribute this to the arrival of the omicron strain. In three days, the number of infected with the new strain increased 2.6 times.

Golikova suggested that in Russia the strain “omicron” will soon displace the strain “delta” due to its contagiousness.

Earlier today it was reported that the Russian government is preparing a plan to support the healthcare system in connection with omicron. Last year, about 850 billion rubles were spent from the budget on anti-coronavirus measures in the country.
