“Don’t pinch yourself.” 24-year-old veterinarian Sergey Fadyushin preferred his homeland

Weekly magazine “Arguments and Facts” No. 50. Where are the new buildings going? 15/12/2021

Sergey Fadyushin, a veterinarian from Kozelsk (Kaluga region), forgot when he slept more than 5 hours a day.

Main job, private calls. Plus, he is the older brother in a family with three more children.

Incubator in gift

To get to the enterprise in time from Kozelsk to Przemysl, you need to get up at 5 a.m. From 7 to 16 hours – work. Then again an hour on the road. At home – dinner and rare moments of peace. And then private calls begin. There are a lot of cattle in the district. Dozens of farmers live here. Well, if you manage to manage by half a night. Then you can carve out 5 hours for sleep, although sometimes there won’t be 3 hours of rest. And so – 6 once a week. And  sometimes   no days off at all.

Sergey does not complain – you will not begin to sort out the difficulties, so there will be no time for the rest. And  he tries to do everything himself, not to ask anyone for anything, except for good advice. «In 12 years I got rabbits, but they made me sick. I found a veterinarian who explained what it was and how to deal with the disease. I became interested in studying animals. On my 13th birthday, I asked my parents for an incubator. I boughtthe neighbor has eggs and bred chickens: 2 cockerels and 5 chickens. Got rabbits again. In 5 years, the host has grown to 500 quails, 100 chickens, 80 ducks, 100 rabbits. My father helped to build a paddock: I got an old brick, dug out the foundation, and laid the stove. Dad bought a concrete mixer. He taught me how to make cement mortar. To lay a brick. The profit from the owner invested in the first car (then he was 18) and paid for the driver’s courses.

With such a troublesome host, he also managed to deliver newspapers. He learned how to fix the car and even shows his younger brother Egor how to manage it. “That’s what Father always did. He taught everything by example. He took me, a three-year-old, to the field, when he was working on a tractor, I was sitting in his cab.

I also paid for tutors myself. He graduated from the Agricultural College in Kaluga. After the couples, I went to the neighboring vet clinic to master practical knowledge: how to examine animals, do injections, take tests. He was given a condition there: gain some experience, but every evening you will wash the floors throughout the clinic. And he was washing. Then he entered the branch of the Timiryazev Academy in Kaluga.

«Realized that mamunado to save»

Shortly before entering the academy, trouble happened. The Fadyushins’ house burned down. Short circuit.

“My father and I were building the second floor the day before. It remains only to bring in the furniture. Parents took a loan for building materials. That night in the house were mom, younger brother, sister ».

Sergey remembers running towards the fire to get documents and things for the children. As the roof collapsed – and  he, falling on the floor, almost suffocated from carbon monoxide. He wonders how he figured out the first thing to take out a gas cylinder from the house. And  immediately drove a car from home, putting his brother and sister in it. It was freezing outside – the fire happened in December.

«It’s lucky that the eldest sister was with her grandmother   she is a disabled person of the 2nd group. My father is in Moscow, he works there in a shift mode.

In the evening of that day, when no one saw him, Sergey burst into tears – threw out the tension. Then they got a call from custody. With a suggestion: since your living conditions have become worse (the Fadyushins have moved to a city apartment), maybe it will be easier for you if the children are taken away from you for a while? The younger children in the family are adopted. “This is according to the documents of the reception. And  that’s how the family is. Nastya, when the fire happened, was 14 years old, they took her into the family at 4 years old, EgorMom needs to be taken care of, helped. Therefore, when I was offered a job in the Netherlands, in Belgorod, in Astrakhan, I refused. Family is more important: the older sister is disabled, the younger ones are still on their feet. My father is often in Moscow. So it turns out that I, like the Airborne Forces, have a motto: “No one but us”.

Baba Pasha’s rules of life

Such a solid core in Sergey’s character is thanks to his parents and great-grandmother, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War Praskovya Maksimovna Drovkina which he called Baba Pasha. “She went to the front at the age of 16 as a nurse, went through the whole war. After that, she worked as a calf, nursed young cattle on a farm. She was awarded in Ostankino as one of the best calves of the country, presented with a woolen blanket, which still serves, warm and prickly.  She had her own owner – kept a cow, pigs. Maybe also hence the choice of my profession. She and her great-grandfather, also a front-line soldier, raised five children. The eldest son is a captain of the 2nd rank, lives in Kaliningrad. The second son – tooNow I am working at an enterprise in Przemysl. My profile is artificial reproduction (insemination) of cows. The work is hard. It is necessary to rectalize (examine through the back passage. – Ed.) cows, and   not one or two per shift, but hundreds. My arm, neck, shoulder, lower back – everything hurts, even though  my age is young. But I remember my grandmother’s advice not to pinch myself.

And he doesn’t regret it. Yes, and together with the bride Vladoy, she is also a veterinarian, making plans: “We will take a preferential mortgage under the program of a young family of agricultural specialists. It takes 4 million to buy a plot and build a cool house.

And Sergey also says that he remembered the words of one professional: “A real specialist in his field always knows what the head of the department will do.” This, like Baba Pasha’s words, has sunk into my soul. That’s how I live: I know what I’m going to do tomorrow.
