Employees of the Russian Embassy visited Sofia Sapega, who was detained in Minsk

Russian diplomats visited Sofia Sapega, a Russian woman detained in Minsk, in July, TASS reports with reference to the press secretary of the Russian Embassy in Belarus Alexey Maskalev.

According to him, Sapieha did not complain about the conditions of detention and the state of health.

In addition, the embassy staff visited Yegor Dudnikov and Dmitry Popov. Lawyers work with the detained Russians, diplomats are in contact with relatives.

Recall that Sapieha was detained in Minsk on May 23, together with the founder of the extremist Telegram channel Nexta recognized in Belarus, Roman Protasevich. This happened when the Ryanair plane, on which they were flying from Greece to Lithuania, urgently landed at the Minsk airport because of a message about mining, which, as it turned out later, was false.

The Russian woman is accused of inciting social hostility and discord. She is also a suspect in another case. Now Sapieha has been transferred to house arrest.
