In memory of the dead. Events in Brest dedicated to the anniversary of the beginning of the Second World War

On June 21-22, Brest hosted mourning events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.

The ceremony was attended by the heads of the leading Russian and Belarusian mass media and public organizations, including head of the Union of Journalists of Russia Vladimir Solovyov, Chairman of the Board of the Belarusian Union of Journalists Andrey Krivosheev, editor-in-chief of the publication “Arguments and Facts” Igor Chernyak, General Director of the radio station “Says Moscow” Vladimir Mamontov, head of the broadcasting organization of Russia and Belarus (TRO) Nikolai Efimovich.

Journalists, paying tribute to the memory of the courage and heroism of the Red Army soldiers who were the first to take the enemy’s blow, laid wreaths at the memorial complex of the Brest Hero Fortress.

On June 22, at 4 am local time, on the day and hour when the troops of Nazi Germany attacked the USSR 80 years ago, journalists, government officials and public figures of both countries paid tribute to the memory of those who died in that terrible war.

On the eve of June 21, Vladimir Solovyov took part in a round table dedicated to modern journalism.During the creative discussion, the chairman of the SZHR expressed surprise at the problem of accreditation of correspondents of the largest Russian news agency TASS in Belarus, suggesting that they discuss it in the same format as it happened earlier with the termination of accreditation of the correspondent of the Russian Channel One.

The round table also included a presentation of a book dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War on June 22, 1941, June 22, 2021. The feat of the Soviet people is immortal.
