The Dzerzhinsk District Court of St. Petersburg sent to jail Russian blogger Yuri Khovansky, who is accused of justifying terrorism. This was reported by the Joint Press Service of the courts of St. Petersburg.

It is added that Khovansky himself admitted his guilt in part and asked to be sent to house arrest, or to choose a preventive measure in the form of a ban on certain actions.

However, the court decided to remand him in custody until August 8.

Khovansky’s detention became known a few days ago. The TFR explained that the reason was the performance of a song with “public calls for terrorism”. After the arrest, he admitted his guilt and repented of what he had done.

Blogger Dmitry Larin was also detained in connection with the Khovansky case in St. Petersburg. During the interrogation in the UK, he testified as a witness.
