Ukraine can use the Iron Dome air defense system, which the United States is ready to provide it, to protect important infrastructure facilities. This was stated by the press secretary of the Kiev delegation to the contact group on Donbass, Alexey Arestovich.
The publication Politico previously reported that some of the members of the US Congress proposed to supply new air and missile defense systems to Ukraine, including the Iron Dome.
As Arestovich noted on the TV channel “Ukraine 24”, getting the “Iron Dome” will be important for the country. According to him, this will increase the combat capability of the armed forces of Ukraine as a whole. With the help of the system, it will be possible, for example, to cover two key cities or defense facilities, he noted.
“This is either a medium-sized city, or critical infrastructure facilities, or an area occupied by troops. For example, it is able to cover Mariupol, ” Arestovich said.
Earlier, Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky said in an interview that the United States should increase its presence in Ukraine.
