The court in Antalya released from custody the Russians arrested for arson of the forest

The court in Antalya released from custody seven citizens of the Russian Federation, who were suspected of setting fire to the forest. They chose a preventive measure unrelated to detention, TASS reports, referring to human rights activist Ivan Melnikov.

The Russians were released thanks to the efforts of the Russian Foreign Ministry, human rights defenders and the public. Melnikov expressed hope that this court decision will be followed by the dismissal of the charges, since the grounds for criminal prosecution look controversial.

Earlier, Turkish media reported that Russian tourists arrested on suspicion of unintentional arson of the forest pitched tents and lit a bonfire in the national park in Antalya, which caused a large fire to break out, which was eliminated with the help of an airplane and three helicopters.

The tourists themselves said that they were only trying to put out a fire that they noticed in the forest. The lawyers of the Russians appealed their detention and asked the court to transfer the defendants to house arrest. According to the indictment, citizens of the Russian Federation face a sentence of two to seven years in prison.

The Russian military told about the rescue of the ship from pirates off the coast of Africa

The Russian military rescued from pirates on the Panamanian container ship “Lucia” a crew of 22 people consisting of 20 Ukrainians, a Romanian and one citizen of the Russian Federation. This was announced by the commander of the detachment of warships of the Northern Fleet, captain of the first rank Stanislav Varik, RIA Novosti reports.

Last Monday, October 25, a marine unit from the ship “Vice Admiral Kulakov” prevented the seizure of a container ship sailing under the flag of Panama to Cameroon by unknown armed persons in the Gulf of Guinea.

After receiving a distress signal, a helicopter with marines was lifted from the Russian ship. Seeing him, the pirates left the ship and disappeared by boat. An anti-terror group landed on board the “Lucia”, she released the crew and conducted an inspection of the vessel.

According to Varick, all the crew members of the ship were alive, they took refuge in the aft part of the ship. After the appearance of the Russian military, the sailors came on deck, “warmly welcomed and thanked for the rescue.”

Now the vessel is being escorted by a detachment of ships, navigation control will be carried out during today, he added. The captain noted that the actions of the detachment of ships of the Northern Fleet confirmed the training of personnel and the readiness of weapons.

Rogozin said that the Russian orbital station could become the new ISS

The Russian orbital service station may become a prototype of the new International Space Station (ISS). This was stated by the CEO of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin, RIA Novosti reports.

“We are talking now: the Russian Orbital Service Station. In fact, there is such interest in it now that we have thought about the fact that maybe the Russian orbital service station can become a prototype for the creation of a new ISS with even wider international participation,” he said.

Rogozin noted the importance of international cooperation. He also stressed that the Russian Federation is ready to take part in international projects related to the creation of orbital stations.

The creation of the ISS started in 1998.In recent years, it has been planned to stop the operation of the station several times. However, now the possibility of extending its work until 2028-2030 is being discussed. Russia intends to complete the operation of its ISS segment and create its own orbital service station in five to six years. It is assumed that crews of two to four cosmonauts will visit it with a certain frequency. Thus, the object will not be permanently inhabited.

What kind of electronic warfare systems did Russia use against a US aircraft near Crimea?

Information periodically appears in the media that an unidentified electronic warfare system (EW) periodically operates in the Kerch Strait area. It affects reconnaissance planes and drones that regularly appear in the area. АиФ.ги I was looking for answers to questions about what kind of systems they are and how reliable such information can be.

What was the last incident?

In mid-October, it became known that near the Kerch Strait, in the area where the RC-135W Rivet Joint aircraft was making a reconnaissance flight, the data exchange between it and the GPS global positioning system was disrupted. Previously, a similar situation has already been observed, and what is very remarkable, a repeat incident occurred in the same area. This suggests to experts that a complex of electronic warfare and electronic suppression has been deployed in the Kerch Bridge area.

How do electronic warfare work?

Recall that electronic warfare systems are designed to protect against both reconnaissance aircraft and attempts to attack bases from the air. The complexes can disable enemy aircraft radars, bomb and missile homing systems, and interfere with the operation of drones. Most often, the complex analyzes the type of signal and affects the enemy with strong interference radiation.

Is it only in Crimea that such incidents occur?

No. It is reported that American reconnaissance planes regularly fly near the Russian borders. Their routes run in the north of Europe, in the Baltic and Black Seas. For example, the flight of a reconnaissance aircraft took place on November 27, 2018, it was approaching the coastline of the Crimean Peninsula by 31 km. The aircraft with the tail number 168  848 is part of the 26th patrol Squadron of the US Navy. Also on November 27, an American strategic drone RQ-4A Global Hawk conducted reconnaissance in the area. He carried out monitoring of the demarcation line in Donbass.

The Pentagon regularly complains that the Russian electronic warfare systems “Krasukha-4”, “Resident” and “Samarkand”, involved in Syria, create inconvenience to American pilots. Because of them, navigation and control system failures allegedly occurred in American reconnaissance drones, AC-130 transporters and Apache helicopters, which more than once had to be crash-landed in dangerous areas.

However, it wasn’t just Americans who complained. Israeli pilots have periodically stated that they encounter GPS signal failures. In their opinion, they are opposed by the complex “Moscow”.

In 2018, Russia was accused of involvement in attacks on GPS systems in northern Finland and Norway, which allegedly took place during the active phase of NATO exercises. The Finnish authorities stated that during the exercises, which took place from October 25 to November 7, attacks on navigation systems were recorded, which complicated the work of military equipment and civil aviation.

True or false?

The Defense Ministry previously reported that over the past few years, Russia has deployed powerful electronic warfare (EW) systems in all regions of increased interest to the likely enemy, Crimea. It has been repeatedly reported that NATO ships are not capable of reconnaissance of the coast due to the effective counteraction of electronic warfare. The Ministry of Defense only names different electronic warfare systems that counteract the airborne radars of strike, reconnaissance and unmanned aircraft, there is no official information about their specific actions.

What is in service with the Russian army?

Russia has a large arsenal of electronic warfare that can disorient various types of weapons. According to the Ministry of Defense, from 2012 to 2021, more than two dozen new models of electronic warfare equipment were accepted for supply. There are also novelties among them, the range of which is several hundred kilometers.

To counter both drones and guided weapons, promising complexes “Field-21” are designed. They suppress all major foreign satellite navigation systems, including the American GPS NAVSTAR and the Chinese Beidou within a radius of tens of kilometers. When using multiple jamming stations, this zone can be expanded. Its configuration can be flexibly controlled by removing interference in one area and installing it in another. Aircraft caught in it lose the ability to navigate and perform their combat missions.

The Murmansk-BN complexes are designed to suppress operational and strategic communications in enemy headquarters between warships and aircraft. Their range reaches 5 thousand km.

“Banker” with nar. The convict divorced Russians for millions through dating sites

A prisoner of the Ulyanovsk colony with the help of a dating site “extracted” millions of rubles from women from different regions of Russia. He hooked them with stories about a fat wallet, which he easily convinced them with a fake picture of a bank account from the phone screen.

An almost trouble-free criminal scheme was invented by a prisoner of the Ulyanovsk colony serving a sentence for robbery and crimes against sexual integrity. With the help of a smartphone, he started fake accounts on dating sites and found potential victims from different regions of Russia, to whom he deftly blew dust in the eyes.

“The attacker presented himself as a co-founder of a bank or a wealthy businessman,” she told reporters official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk. – In the process of communication, he informed his new acquaintances about problems with withdrawing money from accounts and offered to temporarily transfer them two million US dollars. As proof, the prisoner sent a fake screenshot of his smartphone, on which an account for the specified amount was opened in the banking application.

When the gullible lady swallowed the bait, the crook allegedly asked her to send her personal data, including a photo of her passport and bank card, to transfer the currency. Thanks to the information he received, he entered the mobile applications of banks and issued large loans to his victims. In addition, the man bred them for substantial sums, which he persuaded them to transfer under the guise of a commission for a banking operation. He transferred all the stolen goods to the accounts of his relatives and acquaintances. But the police from Volgograd, together with colleagues from the Kostroma and Ulyanovsk regions, exposed everyone.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Volgograd Region has opened a criminal case on the grounds of crimes provided for in Articles 158 and 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. During the joint operation, police officers and employees of the Rosgvardiya conducted searches of citizens through whose accounts the stolen money was cashed. As a result, more than a million rubles, bank cards, communications equipment and other items important for the investigation were seized. So far, we know about four episodes of fraudulent actions with a total damage of more than two million rubles, but according to the results of investigations of such crimes, there may be much more.

“Sorry for the inconvenience!»

The event so excited Japanese society that the Japanese even went to a rally against the marriage. The inhabitants of the country were not even worried about the fact that the chosen one was not of royal blood. They suspected him of wanting to use the princess and her preferences and of the insincerity of his feelings. By the way, it turned out that the groom’s mother has a debt to the royal family a few years ago, she borrowed 4 million yen ($35,000) from them. This circumstance also turned society against the marriage of the princess.

Why do scribes ask about income, knowledge of languages and the area of the apartment?

The All-Russian Population Census is taking place in Russia from October 15 to November 14, 2021. Its task is to collect the most complete and up-to-date information about the population, determine its structure, ethnic groups, and find out the number of small nations.Permanent residents of Russia are asked 33 questions, 23 of them are socio-demographic and will relate to gender, age, citizenship, place of birth, nationality, language proficiency, sources of income, etc.

Is there a question about knowledge of foreign languages in the census forms?

There is a question about proficiency in other languages in the census forms. There is also a question about the active use of languages in everyday life. The respondent can name up to three variants of languages: they are recorded in free cells. The answers to the questions will be used in statistics. The All-Russian Population Census is the only source of information about the languages used in Russia. The data obtained will make it possible to assess the effectiveness of educational programs, the degree of need in national schools, as well as to identify priority areas of support for cultural initiatives.

Do they ask during the census about the amount of income?

No, they don’t ask. There is no question about the amount of income in the census forms. Only the question is asked about the source of income – employment, pension, allowance, scholarship, dependency, etc. Earlier, at a press conference on the All-Russian Population Census, advisor to the head of Rosstat Pavel SmelovHe stated that the sources of income will show how many people receive wages and, accordingly, work, and how many are unemployed.

“According to benefits, we will be able to understand how many people live on benefits, or is it an additional income,” Smelov said.

And if the scribe asked about income?

The interviewee has the right to refuse to answer any question. But scribes should not ask about income. If you are asked for passport data, information about the owners, income level, salary and pension, etc.refuse to communicate and call the census site. Report what happened. Specialists will sort out the situation and send you another census taker or offer to take a census at the site.

Why do they ask questions about living space?

During the census, the census takers are asked to name the type of living space, the time of construction of the house, the total area of the apartment or house, the number of rooms and types of landscaping. At the same time, scribes should not be interested in who is the owner of the apartment or the house in which the person lives. According to Smelov, Rosstat is interested in what conditions the citizens of the Russian Federation live in, what living conditions the residents of the country have.

“That is, not just the presence of a house or apartment, but that in this house, the apartment has the Internet, radio, television, electricity, even including the presence of central heating, sewerage, hot and cold water. In fact, not all of these conditions are available to people, you need to know how common it is, Smelov explained.

Are citizens responsible for providing false data?

No, they don’t. The answers to the questionnaire questions will be recorded only from the words of the interviewee. No documents confirming the information you provided (passport, pension certificate, apartment documents, etc.) need to be presented to the copyist. When participating in the census, citizens should take into account that the information received will be used in the development of social programs and budget planning.

Legion pimps. In France, the military caught protecting Ukrainian prostitutes

The soldiers of the famous French Foreign Legion were involved in a criminal history. According to the police, several people from among the fighters organized an illegal business selling sex services.

A prostitute caught with a batch of condoms handed over the office

According to the France 3 TV channel, the detention of six soldiers took place in the south of France on October 19. Four days later, all the detainees were charged with “aggravated pimping”, “human trafficking”, “money laundering” and “participation in a criminal community”.

The investigation of this story went on for almost a year. It began in November 2020, when a Ukrainian citizen engaged in prostitution was detained in the commune of Saint-Nazaire. A large supply of condoms and a large sum of money were found with her. The girl, counting on condescension, decided to tell everything she knows about the organizers of the business. In particular, the police learned from her that she is a member of a large group for the provision of sex services, and the head office is located in the commune of Nimes.

Further searches led investigators to the soldiers of the Foreign Legion, who turned out to be the leaders of the network. According to the investigation version, they rented apartments where girls of easy virtue worked, and also distributed advertisements with the offer of prostitutes’ services.

According to France 3, all the detainees are from Eastern European countries.

Pimps — term up to life, clients — fine

In 1994, a new Criminal Code came into force in France, in which the responsibility for pimping was tightened. In this case, the organized nature of the activity is considered to be aggravating circumstances, as well as coercion to engage in prostitution of minors. The term of punishment, depending on the severity of the offense, ranges from five years to life imprisonment.

In 2016, the authorities introduced a law introducing fines for the purchase of prostitutes’ services. Caught in the purchase of sex services can be fined up to 3,750 euros. If the same prostitute turns out to be a minor, for it threatens a term of up to 3 years of imprisonment and a fine of up to 45 000 euros.

Despite this, prostitution in France has not disappeared anywhere. According to various estimates, from 25,000 to 30,000 people sell themselves in the republic. About 80% of the number of workers in the sex services industry are foreigners, including girls from Eastern European countries.

Dark personalities in the service of France

The French Foreign Legion was created by the King of France Louis-Philippe Iin 1831. The legion’s first campaign was the war in Algeria, where the unit carried out the task of subjugating local tribes to Paris. The soldiers of the Foreign Legion in the early years of its existence became famous for extreme brutality, and also for their penchant for looting in captured cities and towns.

A person entering the Foreign Legion was given the opportunity to hide his past and take a different name. This allowed him to recruit those who had problems with the law in their previous life. At various times, both former soldiers of the White Army and veterans of the Wehrmacht served in the Legion. To prevent internal strife and strengthen unity, there is a motto: “Legion is our Fatherland.” For a more complete implementation of this slogan in the consciousness of each legionnaire, his contacts with the outside world in the first five years of service are limited and controlled.

In different eras, the composition of legionnaires has changed a lot. The collapse of the socialist bloc and the Soviet Union led to the fact that the largest group of legionnaires in the formation in the XXI century were immigrants from Eastern Europe: Russians, Ukrainians, Belarusians, Poles, etc.

In the spring of 2021, the French publication Le Monde reported that in the course of the investigation, a significant number of people with neo-Nazi views were found in the ranks of the French Army. At the same time, most of the identified convinced neo-Nazis turned out to be soldiers of the Foreign Legion. The French Ministry of Defense has acknowledged these facts, but its representatives insist that we are talking about “isolated facts” that are revealed in a timely manner. The detected neo-Nazis from the French units were immediately dismissed.

There is an issue from the Legion

From the very moment of the creation of the French Foreign Legion, some of its military personnel were persons with a criminal background. Service in the Legion allowed them to forget about the past, get French citizenship and start a new life. Some mistakenly believe that the Legion can now become a safe haven for those who are wanted in their homeland for committing crimes.

In fact, this is not the case. If law enforcement agencies attack the trail and reliably establish that the person they are interested in is part of the Foreign Legion, then the French authorities will extradite the suspect as part of the usual procedure.

For example, in 2010, Artur Arkhipov, a citizen born in 1974, was extradited to Russia, accused of committing crimes under Part 2 of art. 131, h. 2 art.132 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Rape”).

Arkhipov was put on the international wanted list at the request of the ATC for the Primorsky Territory in December 2007, and in November 2008 he was detained in France, where he served as a volunteer in the Foreign Legion.

Despite the fact that the suspect left Russia with a passport in a false name, his whereabouts were discovered. The fact is that he himself actively shared with Russian acquaintances the details of his service in the Legion, which became known to representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

An extradition request was sent to France, and Arkhipov was detained by French police. His reliance on the Legion’s immunity didn’t help.

The current legionnaires detained in France for pimping are also not waiting for anything good. If the suspects did not manage to obtain French citizenship, then after serving their sentence in a local prison, they will be expelled from the country to their native penates.
