The meteorologist spoke about the “new” climate in Russia

Mikhail Leus, a leading specialist of the Phobos Weather Center, said that the climate in Russia has changed significantly over the past decades. The average temperature, the amount of precipitation and their intensity have changed, the meteorologist said in an interview with Sputnik radio.

The values conventionally accepted as the norm in each region are calculated on the basis of observations over 30 years and are periodically updated. This year, according to Leus, such an update is expected, but so far Roshydromet has not approved new characteristics.

Climate changes can be judged by the weather in Moscow in August, the expert said. The climatic norm for this month is 10 rainy days and 77 mm of precipitation at an average temperature of 16.4 degrees. Now the average temperature has increased by more than one degree, to 17.6, and precipitation falls 78 mm.

A millimeter more, but the number of days with precipitation is 15, that is, it should rain every second day, and this is a noticeable increase, the forecaster noted.

Russian radar stations escorted 33 aircraft and 5 UAVs in a week

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that 38 aircraft and five unmanned aerial vehicles conducted reconnaissance near the borders of Russia for a week, writes Krasnaya Zvezda. 

According to the published infographic, 33 reconnaissance aircraft and five drones of foreign countries conducted aerial reconnaissance along the borders of Russia.

It is noted that all flights were under the control of Russian radar systems.

It is emphasized that violations of the airspace of the Russian Federation are not allowed.

Recall that since December 1, 2019, the first over-the-horizon radar “Container” has been on combat duty in Mordovia. The container can detect any aircraft, cruise missiles and even hypersonic vehicles.

Preliminary analysis data in the oil spill zone in the port of Novorossiysk did not show an excess of the maximum permissible values for the content of petroleum products, said the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources Alexander Kozlov in an interview with the TV channel “Russia 24”.

According to him, the results of water research conducted by Rosprirodnadzor will give a reliable answer.

Kozlov noted that to determine the presence of environmental damage, samples were taken in seven different locations of the sea on August 9. In addition, measurements were made along the Utrish Nature Reserve. At the same time, according to the minister, the agency does not work with satellite images as an evidence base.

“We work with laboratory research. And according to the results of the analyses that our colleagues from Rosprirodnadzor will give, the order of responsibility will be formed, ” Kozlov said. According to him, it will take “several days” to analyze the samples.

Recall that on August 8, an oil spill occurred in the Black Sea near Novorossiysk while loading the Greek tanker Minerva Symphony. On the eve of the data appeared that the area of the spot from the release of petroleum products was 80 square kilometers, and not 200 square meters, as originally reported.

Investigators and criminologists continue to inspect the contaminated areas, environmental and technical forensic examinations have been appointed.

Smog in Yakutsk

The court arrested the scientist Kuranov for two months in the case of treason

A court in Moscow has authorized the arrest of the general director and chief designer of JSC “Research Enterprise of Hypersonic Systems”, who was detained in a criminal case of treason.

Alexander Kuranov will be in custody until October 9, TASS reports.

A law enforcement source said that the scientist is suspected of transferring scientific developments to foreign special services.

FSB officers conducted searches at his places of residence and stay in St. Petersburg. So far, the special service has not brought official charges against Kuranov.

It is known that the head of the NIP of hypersonic systems was engaged in scientific developments related to hydrocarbon fuel in aircraft.
