According to TASS, with reference to the Russian Consulate General in Sapporo, the penalty for negligence and improper management of the ship, which resulted in the death of three people, because of suspicion of which Dobryansky was detained, involves up to five years in prison or a fine of up to one million yen (about $ 10,000). Today Dobryansky was taken to the prosecutor’s office of the city of Asahikawa. In the next two days, she will have to make a decision on the possible charges against him.

The collision occurred on May 26, 23 kilometers off the coast of the island of Hokkaido. Three of the five fishermen on the schooner were killed.
