The criminal case against members of the Tsapkov gang on extortion of 70 million rubles was terminated for lack of evidence of a crime, reports TASS.

This was told to the agency by the lawyer Murad Musayev. He noted that the case was opened in Rostov-on-Don in 2019 at the request of entrepreneur Alexander Isyuk, who reported extortion of 70 million rubles from him. The case involved Vladimir Alekseev, Vyacheslav Tsepovyaz, his ex-wife Natalia Strishnyaya and her brother Ivan.

In November, it was reported that the defendants were charged with extortion.

Recall that the gang of Sergei Tsapka operated in the Kuban village of Kushchevskaya from 1998 to 2010. Investigators found that the perpetrators had committed 19 murders, including a mass murder in the house of farmer Server Ametov. On November 19, 2013, the court sentenced Tsapka to life in prison, and in July 2014, he died in jail from a stroke.
