Plot Criminal case against the governor of the Penza region Ivan Belozertsev
The Moscow City Court recognized the legal extension until the end of February of the arrest of the former head of the Penza region Ivan Belozertsev, accused of corruption crimes, RIA Novosti reports.
The press service of the court informed the agency that the appeals of the defense of Belozertsev on the cancellation of the court’s decision to extend the detention of the ex-governor in custody, as well as on the transfer of the case for a new trial to the court of first instance, were left without satisfaction.
In December, the Moscow City Court arrested Boris Shpigel, the head of the Biotech group of pharmaceutical companies, in the case of a bribe to the ex-head of the Penza Region, Ivan Belozertsev.
Belozertsev and other defendants in the case were detained in March. The ex-head of the region is accused of receiving money and other valuables worth more than 31 million rubles as a bribe. In total, six people appear in the case, none of them admits guilt.
It should be noted that in June the court classified the Belozertsev case.
