The Moscow Higher School of Social and Economic Sciences (“Shaninka”) will appoint an acting rector by the beginning of next week. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the university.
The rector of “Shaninka” Sergey Zuev has been under house arrest since Wednesday in the case of Marina Rakova about the theft of 50 million rubles belonging to the “Fund for New Forms of Education Development”. These funds were intended for the implementation of the project “Teacher of the Year” within the framework of the national project “Education”. The team of “Shaninka” is sure of Zuev’s innocence.
Earlier it was reported that the defendants in the criminal case of ex-Deputy Minister of Education Marina Rakova, her common-law husband and former employee of the foundation Artur Stetsenko, two more employees of the institution Evgeny Zak and Maxim Inkin, as well as the executive director of “Shaninka” Kristina Kryuchkova were arrested. None of them plead guilty.
