Cosmonaut Roman Romanenko supported the proposal Irina Yarovaya about the application of QR codes on the monuments of the Great Patriotic War.
Deputies of the State Duma in the first reading adopted a bill “On amendments to certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation in terms of improving measures aimed at perpetuating the memory of those who died in the defense of the Fatherland and protecting historical memory”. The bill proposes to apply special designations to WWII monuments containing historical references, extracts from official documents, photo and video materials about the events and heroes in whose honor the memorial is erected. Anyone can get acquainted with this information using a QR code.
The use of advanced Internet technologies and services is an indispensable condition for the development of the modern individual and society as a whole. The bill under consideration suggests a new format for informing citizens about places, events and people in whose honor a particular monument is erected. I am sure that the proposed measure will make the historical heritage more attractive for young people, ” Romanenko said.
