The militant electron. In the USA, a hand-held Gauss cannon was created

The American company Arcflash Labs has opened a pre-order for the GR-1 ANVIL manual electromagnetic mass accelerator. This is the world’s first Gauss cannon. And it will be able to accelerate a projectile made of a special material with a diameter of 10-12 millimeters to a speed of more than 60 meters per second. The muzzle energy of the weapon is comparable to powerful air rifles. АиФ.ги I understood how this weapon works.

The Gauss gun is one of the varieties of an electromagnetic mass accelerator. It received its name in honor of the German scientist Karl Gauss, who at one time laid the foundations of the entire mathematical theory of electromagnetism.

For a projectile in such a device, you need to use a ferromagnetic. A ferromagnet is a substance that can maintain magnetization even without the influence of a magnetic field. Examples of such materials are iron, cobalt, nickel, as well as their alloys.

The Gauss cannon accelerates projectiles with the help of electromagnetic forces, as does the railgun. But there are differences between these devices. Recall that the railgun consists of two parallel electrodes, called rails, connected to a high-power DC source. The accelerated projectile is located between the rails, closing the electric circuit, and acquires acceleration due to the force acting on a closed conductor with a current in its own magnetic field.

Structurally, any Gauss gun consists of a solenoid, inside which a barrel (usually made of a dielectric) is placed. A special projectile is inserted into one of the ends of the barrel, which is made of a ferromagnet. At the moment of the flow of an electric current, an electromagnetic field appears in the solenoid, which accelerates the projectile.

To achieve the greatest effect, the current pulse in the solenoid must be powerful and short-term. Most often, to obtain such a current pulse, high-capacity electrolytic capacitors with a high operating voltage are used.

Since the efficiency of such an installation is significantly lower than that of a railgun, the military is less interested in it.

Arcflash Labs opened a pre-order for the GR-1 ANVIL handheld electromagnetic mass accelerator in July. The company says that this is the world’s first manual Gauss gun and probably also the most powerful. You can order it for $ 3,375 (more than 275 thousand rubles), having previously signed a document on a complete waiver of claims against the company, which leads to some suspicions about the quality of weapons. However, when pre-ordering, the company is ready to provide customers with a 10 percent discount.

The GR-1 is equipped with eight electromagnetic coils. The gun can fire up to 100 rounds per minute. The muzzle energy of the weapon is 85 Joules. This is comparable to powerful air rifles (popular “breaking” air rifles, such as the MP-512, have muzzle energy by an order of magnitude less). The GR-1 weighs nine kilograms.

Why did the Il-112B and its crew die?

The plot of the crash of the IL-112B aircraft in the Moscow region

Magomed Tolboev, test pilot, hero of Russia:

After the plane crash on August 17 in Kubinka near Moscow, I thought a lot about its causes. I definitely have no complaints about the lost crew of the new military transport aircraft. Excellent crew, experienced pilots. Commander— & nbsp;Hero of Russia Nikolai Kuimov, my student and close friend, the chief pilot & laquo;Ilyushina».

There have also never been any problems with the airframe, it has been developed since the early 2000s. Specifically, this aircraft was overloaded by more than 2 tons with a declared load of 5 tons, but it was a prototype on which no one was going to carry cargo. It is unlikely that this could lead to a tragedy. The weather was beautiful, as we can see on the shooting of an eyewitness of the plane crash. Actually, of the obvious reasons, there is only one — engines. Unfortunately, we also watched the fire in the right engine almost live.

By the way, this Il-112B had problems with the propulsion systems before, but the pilots managed to save the situation. They say that the right engine was capricious in 8 out of 12 flights. Whether this is true or not, I can’t say. The TV7-117 gas turbine engine is a new domestic development of the Klimov company, which is part of the United Engine Corporation (UEC). As far as I understand, this is potentiallya very promising engine, the most economical in its class. It was created to replace the Ukrainian engines produced by “Motor Sich” after our countries stopped cooperating in this area. Localization of the production of gas turbine engines has been in Ukraine since Soviet times, since light transport aircraft were also built there, on which they were put.

In various modifications, the TV7-117 can be used on airplanes, helicopters and even small ships.

As far as I remember, the engine was difficult from the very beginning of development. The one that was standing on the crashed Il-112 was not satisfied. It’s not so easy: I assembled the engine and put it on the plane. Before that, it must pass thousands of hours of resource tests on stands, etc.

As one of the founders of the MAKS Air Show and Honorary President of JSC “Air Show”, I was against the Il-112B flying on it this year. The plane was not flown enough for this. It would not be enough for him to break in front of the most respectable public!

The Il-112 did not get to the MAX, which apparently extended its life for almost a month. But what happened happened. I told Kolya Kuimov that there is no need to hurry. But, of course, the participation of Il-112 in the forum “Army-2021”, to which the plane arrived a few days before the crash, did not depend on Nikolai.

In the United States, the driver of a subway train lost his job because of a date at the workplace

In Brooklyn, a subway driver was left without a job after a date with his beloved, whom he allowed to drive a passenger train, writes the New York Post.

32-year-old Terrell Harris and 28-year-old Dominique Belgrave took photos and videos that show the girl standing in the driver’s seat at the control system. Subsequently, Harris ‘ beloved posted the pictures on her Instagram page. “Yes, I’m driving the train now,” she signed one of the videos in storis.

Subsequently, the publications were deleted, but the driver’s colleagues managed to see them. The information reached one of the heads of the New York Passenger Transport Department, who reported the incident to the police. And after that, Harris was suspended from work.

Craig Cipriano, acting president of the New York City Passenger Transportation Authority, said that the train driver let down New Yorkers and betrayed their trust, putting them in danger. He assured passengers that the man will no longer be allowed to operate trains.

In addition, it is noted that in the near future, investigators will also interrogate Belgrave.

Earlier, a court in Moscow sentenced a blogger from Tajikistan, Karatullo Jaborov, who faked an attack of coronavirus infection in the subway, to two years and four months in prison.

The fourth of the five who escaped from the IVS in Istra was detained

The plot of the escape of five defendants from the IVS in the Moscow region

The fourth of the five defendants who escaped from the temporary detention facility in Istra has been detained, the SU TFR for the Moscow region reported.

It is noted that we are talking about Alexander Butnaru. Soon he will be transferred to a pre-trial detention center. & nbsp; The accomplices who contributed to his escape are being identified.

Recall that on August 6, five prisoners escaped from the IVS in Istra. On August 11, Denis Grozavu and Ivan Tsurkanu were detained in a rented apartment in Podolsk. The next day, another fugitive turned himself in to the police. Two people were also detained, who are suspected of aiding and abetting the escape.

“A matter of honor.” Unvaccinated students of SPbGUP will not be given diplomas?

August 17, Rector of the St. Petersburg Humanitarian University of Trade Unions, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Alexander Zapesotsky I asked Rospotrebnadzor to recognize the university as a COVID-free zone. At the moment, 91% of students and almost 100% of employees do not need vaccinations. In this regard, the question arises about the correlation of the rights and consideration of the interests of both “refuseniks” and vaccinated members of the university community.

Now there is only 1 teacher and 6 employees at the university who refuse to get vaccinated, without having medical grounds for this. Among students starting from the 2nd year, “refuseniks” make up less than 9%. Among first-year students, this indicator is comparable to the number of minors.

No one knows how many more waves of the epidemic are coming to the country. Both vaccinated students and their parents demand that the administration ensure the stability of the full-time educational process.

In this regard, the administration intends to seek from Rospotrebnadzor the complete removal of epidemiological restrictions for the vaccinated majority of students.

Taking into account the interests of the unvaccinated

For first-year students who have not reached the age of majority, it is planned to organize classes separately from the vaccinated ones, and all “refuseniks” will be transferred to a remote mode.

It should be noted that the very expediency of issuing diplomas of higher education to students who have not been vaccinated raises great doubts among a number of members of the Academic Council of SPbSUP. In their opinion, when a person refuses to be vaccinated without any grounds recognized by science and practical medicine, his behavior not only takes on an antisocial character, but also demonstrates ignorance, a lack of fundamental education, a full-fledged picture of the world.

“To refuse vaccination today is essentially the same as saying that the Earth stands on three whales, and the sun revolves around it,” believes Alexander Zapesotsky. Any citizen of Russia has the right to such an opinion. Whether to give such a student a university diploma is a matter of honor of the university professorship.

The author’s model of the university

Now the university trains highly qualified professionals in 31 areas. In some specialties, university-level education in the north-west of the country can only be obtained at SPbGUP. And the Faculty of Conflictology, created in 2008 on the initiative of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia and with the support of Vladimir Putin personally, has no world analogues.

SPbGUP has developed a number of unique, promising specialties at the intersection of humanities, art and information technologies. About 80 doctors of sciences and professors, more than 150 candidates of sciences and associate professors, 25 people’s Artists and honored workers of science, culture, art, law and other spheres of life of Russia work here. More than 20 large-scale scientific conferences are held here annually.

Today, about 8 thousand students study here, including about 3 thousand full-time students.Convenience, comfort, care for people are combined with serious demands, the formation of a high business culture among young people, St. Petersburg intelligence.

Hence the high assessment of the activities of SPbGUP by the state. For the development and implementation of the author’s model of the humanities university, its developers were awarded the prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of education and (twice) the prize of the Government of St. Petersburg.

What kind of fraud scheme was revealed in the VKontakte network?

In the social network VKontakte, Roskachestvo experts have revealed a fraud scheme using advertising of game bots offering quick earnings to schoolchildren. The press service of VKontakte said that they had already blocked the community that owns the bot for violating the rules of the site.

Upon the identification of potential fraudsters, Roskachestvo sent information to Roskomnadzor.

What is the essence of the new fraud scheme?

We are talking about advertising game bots that promise to extract virtual “diamonds”, which can then be exchanged for real money. Their name may change, the most relevant at the time of writing the material is — GameBot in & laquo;VKontakte».

As noted in Roskachet, fraud begins even in the process, when the bot requires you to invite friends or pay for VIP access. According to users, when a player decides to withdraw the allegedly earned money, he is required to pay a commission for the conversion.

After payment, the user’s account is blocked and the participant can no longer receive any earned money, since the developers, in accordance with the user agreement, withdraw responsibility for the payment of remuneration.

Roskachestvo notes that most schoolchildren simply do not read these clauses of the agreement.

How not to become a victim of scammers?

In Roskachestvo, they recommend that schoolchildren who want to earn money avoid any games in social networks, where they promise real earnings.

“Most likely, the opposite will happen: teenagers will pay developers, and the moment they realize that they have been deceived, it will be too late,” says Anton Kukanov, deputy head of Roskachestvo.

Experts also advise students to study online reviews about the game before becoming a participant in it. Reviews should not be read on the social network page itself, since they are of the same type and, according to experts, are often created by bots and fake accounts.

How not to get lost in the Moscow Zoo?

Weekly magazine “Arguments and Facts” No. 33. What damage has been caused by the current fires? 18/08/2021

The “Island of Safety” will help those who are lost in the Moscow Zoo. In the near future, a meeting place for lost children and adults will open there.

We agreed on this the curator of the projects “Lisa Alert” of the Center for the search for missing People Oleg Leonov and the director of the Moscow Zoo Svetlana Akulova.

“Children are easily attracted to animals and move away from their parents. And in a large crowd it is difficult to find your own. In such situations, each – both the child and the accompanying adult & ndash; should know how to behave correctly, and be sure that they will be helped. But, unfortunately, most often, panic and ignorance of where to turn for help complicate the process of family reunification, ” Leonov noted.

He added that those who came to the “Island of Safety” will be helped by those who have been trained to work with children and the elderly. In turn, Svetlana Akulova said that the daily number of visitors to the zoo in the summer reaches 70 thousand, and every 10 minutes there are broadcast announcements about a lost child. & laquo; The island of safety & raquo; will help the staff to help the lost more quickly.

Who will have their passport taken away from them?

Weekly magazine “Arguments and Facts” No. 33. What damage has been caused by the current fires? 18/08/2021 The expert’s answer is 0 + –

The government has submitted a bill to the State Duma that will give bailiffs the right to seize foreign passports from debtors.

We are talking about citizens who are already banned from leaving the country. According to the FSSP, 5.9 million decisions were made in six months to restrict the departure of debtors. As soon as the person pays, the document will be returned to him. The seized passports should be sent to the state agency that issued them.

« By & shy;see the American practice: when the court restricts their departure, it also takes away their passport. I think this should be not an administrative, but a judicial proceeding. For example, there is a court decision on the payment of alimony and there are deadlines in which a person must start paying them. If the deadlines are violated, the bailiffs seize the passport, “says Professor, Doctor of Economics, chairman of the Council of the All-Russian Public organization” Union of Consumers of Financial Services “Igor” Kostikov.
