The ISS crew was woken up at night by a siren due to a malfunction in the Zvezda module

At night, a siren sounded on the International Space Station (ISS). This happened after a failure in the control system of the Russian module “Zvezda”. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to NASA.

According to cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov, the siren went off throughout the station.

“And to our colleagues, I did not beat off (the siren) so that they could hear,” he said during a conversation with a specialist from the Moscow Flight Control Center.

Shkaplerov explained that the alert was triggered due to a temporary failure in the navigation support of the motion control system and navigation of the Zvezda module.

Later, a representative of the Houston Mission Control Center notified the ISS that no action was required from the crew.

Earlier it was reported that the International Space Station lost its orientation in space while testing the engines of the Soyuz MS-18 spacecraft. On it, cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky, actress Yulia Peresild and director Klim Shipenko will return to Earth on October 17.

The Shenzhou-13 spacecraft successfully docked with the Chinese orbital station

The Shenzhou-13 manned spacecraft has successfully docked with the Tiangong orbital station under construction, according to the China Manned Space Flight Program Administration.

The spacecraft with three Taikunauts on board completed this task approximately seven hours after launch from the Chinese Jiuquan Cosmodrome.

Zhai Zhigang, who in 2008 became the first Chinese to make a spacewalk, a female cosmonaut Wang Yaping, as well as a novice cosmonaut Ye Guangfu, were brought into orbit.

The crew will spend at least 180 days at the station. It is planned that the Taikunauts will perform two or three spacewalks and conduct a number of scientific experiments.

Recall that in April, China launched the base module of the national space station into orbit. The assembly of the Chinese station should be completed in 2022.

On June 17, the CZ-2F launch vehicle with the Shenzhou-12 manned spacecraft was launched in China. On July 4, Taikunauts Liu Bomin and Tang Hongbo went into outer space. In September, the descent vehicle of the Shenzhou-12 spacecraft with three astronauts on board returned to Earth.

The time of the first. The Russian army will receive several Su-57s by the end of the year

The Russian Armed Forces will receive several serial fifth-generation Su-57 fighters by the end of this year and more than 70 by 2027, Rostec reported. The state corporation responded to an article in the National Interest edition, in which they doubted the possibility of putting the Su-57 into service until 2027. The journalists cited various delays, cost overruns, as well as problems related to research and development as the reasons.

Rostec claims that everything is fine with the Russian fifth-generation fighter, and it does not give rest to NATO. Therefore, the Su-57 and the promising Checkmate fighter regularly become the target of information stuffing. Unreliable facts that have nothing to do with reality are regularly published. Meanwhile, the Su-57 is being produced, and they are already being received in military units. The first aircraft entered the Russian Aerospace Forces last year. In 2024, the army will receive 22 fighters, by 2028 their number will increase to 76.

There have also been regular reports in the Western press that the Su-57 fighter is inferior to American and Chinese competitors. For example, American journalists have suggested that the Russian aircraft is not sufficiently inconspicuous compared to other fifth-generation fighters: the American F-22, F-35 and even the Chinese J-20.

According to experts, such statements in the media are primarily made in order to reduce the export potential of the new Russian aircraft, which, according to the head of Rosoboronexport, Alexander Mikheev, was interested in in five countries of Southeast Asia. The countries are not specified, but it is considered that one of the mostPromising exporters are India. Kazakhstan, Ethiopia, Egypt, Myanmar and Malaysia can also become users of this fighter. Vietnam, China and Turkey are also showing interest in Russian aircraft. In December 2019, it was reported that Algeria had already signed a contract for the purchase of 14 Russian fifth-generation Su-57E fighters.

At the moment, a contract has been signed with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation for the supply of 76 fifth-generation SU-57 fighters. The first aircraft entered the army in 2020. By the end of 2024, 22 fighters should arrive. In total, until 2027, the Ministry of Defense will receive 76 aircraft, which are manufactured by the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant named after Yuri Gagarin under a contract concluded in 2019.

The Su-57 is designed to replace the Su-27 heavy fighter in the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS). Its distinctive features are called high maneuverability, the presence of the latest complex of avionics, as well as stealth technology, which makes the car inconspicuous. The aircraft is designed to destroy all types of air targets in long-range and short-range battles, defeat ground and surface enemy targets with overcoming air defense systems. The Su-57 made its first flight in 2010.

New modifications of the Su-57 are being developed, for example, in the near future, in the interests of foreign buyers, the development of a two-seat version will begin. The work will be carried out by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the Sukhoi Design Bureau. A command option is being created to control a swarm of drones. It is assumed that the fighter, the development of which is already underway, will lead about four “Hunters” and simultaneously coordinate their actions. Under the protection of a fighter, UAVs will be able to conduct reconnaissance and even strike.

The Su-57 voice control system is also under development. Now specialists are training the system to recognize the context, not specific commands, so that the pilot in an extreme situation does not remember the exact phrase that needs to be said.

The Nuremberg Retribution. On October 16, 1946, Nazi criminals were executed

The allies agreed at the Tehran Conference that the leaders of the Third Reich should be judged. The final decision was made in Yalta. The victorious powers agreed on everything except one thing. Soviet judges refused to dress up in robes and wigs.

Got under the distribution

Not everyone lived to see the trial. Hitler and Goebbels shot themselves. The head of the SS Himmler poisoned himself after being captured by the British. Borman he died while trying to break out of the encircled Berlin, but this became known many years after the end of the war. The main body of the defendants were members of the Flensburg government, which was to continue to lead the country after Hitler’s suicide.

The warm company was supplemented with Rudolf Hess, who has been in custody in England since 1941, and Hermann Goering, whom Hitler had already deprived of all posts and positions at that time. In addition to them, the former German Chancellor and Ambassador to Turkey, Franz von Papen, were court-martialed, Gauleiter of Thuringia and Commissioner for the Use of Labor Fritz Sauckel, Minister of Foreign Affairs Joachim von Ribbentrop, former finance minister Hjalmar Schacht, ex-editor-in-chief of the Nazi newspaper Das Sturmer Julius Streicher and others

Epilogue

Lawyer Arkady Poltorak he was the secretary of the Soviet delegation at the trial. In the book The Nuremberg Epilogue, he described the last, 407th session of the tribunal on October 1, 1946 as follows: The last, resolute section of the verdict will be announced by the presiding judge himself (Jeffrey Lawrence, the chief judge from Great Britain and the head of the entire process. — approx. AiF.). With a habitual movement, he adjusts his glasses, and at the same moment, noiselessly, as if without touching anyone’s hand, the door behind the dock rolls back on hinges. The well-known figure of Hermann Goering enters the lighted hall from a dark hole. On either side of him are two soldiers.

Goering looks around the tensely hushed courtroom, accusers with a restless gaze and detains him on the judges. He is pale, even more haggard. A month of waiting for the verdict was not in vain! The mask of bravado that the former Reichsmarschall had so diligently maintained throughout the entire process had disappeared from his face. He is given headphones, although Goering’s knowledge of English was quite sufficient to understand the laconic but expressive formula of the sentence: death by hanging.

After listening to her, Goering casts one last angry look at the judges, into the courtroom. How much hatred is in his eyes. He silently takes off his headphones, turns around and leaves the hall. The door closes behind him, only to open again a few seconds later.

Hess appears. This one refuses the headphones offered to him. He still looks like some kind of buffoon. The Tribunal announces his sentence: life imprisonment.

The door closes again and opens again. This time Ribbentrop enters through it. Face like ashes. The eyes express fright, they are half-closed. It struck me that he had some kind of folder with papers in his hands. He won’t need it anymore.

—To death by hanging, — announces Lawrence.

Ribbentrop’s legs feel like cotton wool. It takes effort for him to turn back and disappear into the darkness of the passage.

Enter Keitel (the Chief of Staff of the Supreme Command of the Wehrmacht, or OKW. — approx. AIF). He walks straight as a candle. The face is impenetrable.

— To death by hanging, — sounds in headphones.

Rosenberg completely loses his composure when he hears the same verdict.

But they introduce a Franc (ex-Governor-General of Poland. — approx. AIF). This executioner, who promised to make “minced meat from all Poles”, has a pleading expression on his face. He even stretched out his hands, as if such a gesture could change the sentence already signed: to death by hanging.

Following Frank, Julius Streicher enters, or rather, runs in. Spreading his legs wide apart and stretching his head forward, this pogromist and molester of the souls of thousands and thousands of Germans gives the impression of a man waiting for a blow. And he gets it, he hears the same few words as Frank.

For Streicher — Saukel. And he gets his due: the death penalty.

Alfred Jodl. Photo: Public Domain

Enter Yodel (another general from OKW. — approx. AIF). Having heard about the loop prepared for him, he abruptly takes off his headphones, hisses something viciously and, walking heavily with stiff legs, leaves.

And here is Walter Funk (Deputy Minister of Propaganda. — approx. AIFThis one remembers the gold crowns removed from the teeth of the Auschwitz victims and stored in the safes of the imperial bank, and therefore does not expect anything other than the death penalty for himself. But suddenly he hears the saving words: “life imprisonment”. Funk is clearly confused. It looks like he is sobbing and making a helpless attempt to bow to the judges…

The door behind the dock opened and closed eighteen times. I look at my watch. The silver hands on the dial show 15 hours and 40 minutes. The process is over. The judges are removed.”

.

How did Goering get poisoned?

Three hours before the execution, Hermann Goering committed suicide. Who exactly helped him in this, it became known quite recently. This was admitted by an elderly American Herbert Lee Sivers, who in 1946 served in the Nazi criminals protection company in Nuremberg. In his spare time, he met a pretty German woman and blabbed about what his service was. The girl asked him to give Goering “medicines”, without which he “suffered terribly”. Goering hoped for leniency to the last. The German woman then disappeared forever from the life of a 19-year-old soldier. He himself remained silent until 2005 .

Invitation to execution

US Army Sergeant John Woods was appointed executioner in Nuremberg  — a strange uncle 35 years old. Prior to that, he had already hanged about 30 American servicemen who committed crimes after the Normandy landings and were convicted by military tribunals. Woods was philosophical about his duties: “Someone has to do it.” He will go down in history once again when he hangs seven Japanese war criminals after the Tokyo Tribunal in 1948.

The night of execution began for the condemned with the last supper – potato salad, sausages, ham, black bread and tea. Ribbentrop was the first to enter the gym of the Nuremberg prison converted for execution. About one o’clock in the morning on October 16, the head of the prison is a colonel of the US Army Andrews he read the death sentence again. Ribbentrop’s hands were tied behind his back. Two soldiers of the military police went up with him to the scaffold. Ribbentrop was placed on a closed manhole cover and his legs were tied. He was asked if he wanted to say something. After a high-flown tirade, Woods threw a black cap over the criminal’s head and tightened a rope around his neck. Executioner’s Assistant Joseph Malta activated the mechanism, and the hatch doors opened…

On the scaffold, the former leaders of the Third Reich behaved differently. Rosenberg, one of the main ideologists of Nazism, said nothing. Streicher shouted “Heil Hitler”. Zeiss-Inquart said he hoped his execution was the last act of the tragedy of World War II.

In the morning, the bodies of the executed were brought by trucks to the crematorium on the outskirts of Munich. After 2 days, the ashes were poured from the bridge into the nearest river.

The lord could bite. The Russian illegal immigrant deceived the Germans, but his own did not believe him

Weekly magazine “Arguments and Facts” No. 41. Why is bread in Russia’s most important product? 13/10/2021

The great illegal immigrant Dmitry Bystroletov considered intelligence dirty and heroic work, in which evil was done for the sake of good.

Writer, three-time winner of the Primakov Prize of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation Nikolai Dolgopolov

From «forgiveness» refused

The polyglot spoke 22 languages. The flawless handsome man seduced women of many countries and peoples. And when ordered by the Center, «put» under Colonel-Italianjanz, who served with Mussolini, beloved wife, bringing her to a severe psychiatric illness. A master actor of reincarnations, he was a talented artist and the author of a multi-volume book “Feast of the Immortals” about the eeriest life in the GULAG.

All this he is an illegal intelligence officer Dmitry Bystroletov, who specialized in mining the holy of holies of intelligence of other people’s ciphers. He spent more than 10 years in illegal immigrants in European countries, including in nazi Germany. And  in 1938, at homeland – suddenly the announcement of a spy is unknown;but which state and 20 years after 58th to become e. Torture, prisons, camps… In 1948 refused gracious monarch-narkomovsky «forgiveness » for what he had not done. Moreover, the prisoner demanded from the People’s Commissar Abakumova rehabilitation, for  that he was immediately thrown into hell, even at that time, Sukhanov prison. «Activated», and not released after a stroke in 1954 , shattered sick and blinded, Dmitry Alexandrovich Quickly letov lived with dignity, working as a translator and creating books that became famous only after his death in  1975

A machine gun in the bag

In order not to scare off the reader, not to stir up the heavy camp life of Bystroletov, I will give a couple of episodes of his heroic life, which in the language of today’s colleagues of Dmitry Alexandrovich are called operational. And it’s interesting, and I won’t give away any secrets.

Bystroletov set impossible tasks for his own re-embodiment: “A scout should be an actor, but not like in our best theaters, but a thousand times more perfect.” I would agree with this statement Konstantin Sergeyevich Stanislavsky? Probably if I saw a strange scene playing out at the Roman railway station.

A pretty young nun in the robes of the holy order, who helped the seriously ill, and a well-behaved minister in the uniform of a famous American hospital where only the rich are treated, led, or rather, almost dragged along the platform of a strange man, obviously old and very unhealthy. Crooked, from head to toe wrapped in warm blankets, he resisted,he mumbled something, then sagging, then breaking out of the strong hands of the escorts. The procession was completed by a servant, effortlessly carrying a light, most likely half-empty, valise and a long bag, from which the metal ends of golf clubs protruded. The procession, which attracted many curious eyes, slowly approached the chic sleeping car of the Rome-Berlin train.

The nun chirped to the conductor that the patient was a crazy lord. From time to time, he falls into an incredible rampage, invariably ending with bites of anyone who was unlucky enough to get under the still strong teeth of their ward. But bites are relatively harmless, because insanity is not transmitted through saliva. Usually seizures can provoke a sharp knock, rattling, yes, and in general it is better to stay away from the lord and not enter into conversations with him, the lord is habitually cared for by an orderly and herself.

What kind of talk is there! The frightened conductor quickly tied towels around everything that could rattle in the luxury compartment, including the chamber pot, and tried not to look at the cursed lord along the way, advising the same to everyone from passengers to border guards and customs officers. And the madman was not without difficulty seated on the lower shelf, carefully covered with another blanket. A nun, who immediately started reading the Gospel, and an orderly settled down next to her. A powerful servant, casually put a suitcase under the compartment window, attached a stupid bag with clubs in the corner and left

Thus began the fulfillment of the task of the Soviet residency in Berlin. Illegal immigrant Dmitry Bystroletov was ordered to urgently go to Rome and, despite the obvious deadly risk, deliver a hand-held machine gun of the latest design from Italy to Nazi Germany, and an army suit that protected against gases. Before the Second World War, everyone was afraid that the Germans would again take up the use of toxic substances.

God with him, with a gas-proof suit. But here’s a machine gun, yes  with a barrel… How did the big scout servant drag all this with ostentatious ease? The suitcase, which was stuffed with a protective suit, was actually not heavy. But the bag with the machine gun and the clubs (they were put in for a distraction) weighed incredibly, any station porter would have bent under such a baggage and felt something was wrong. So there was a special meaning in the ostentatious lightness of the servant who was effortlessly dragging all this, and an amazing physical fitness.

But most importantly, the muzzle of the machine gun, as Bystroletov himself wrote later, “treacherously stuck out of the bag and was clearly visible between the steel blades of the clubs.” And  this «farm» had to be taken out of Italy, dragged through the Swiss, and then the German border. The task is impossible. But not for Lord Dmitry Bystroletov and his assistants. “Our idea was a psychological attack. The whole calculation was put on that neither ItalianThe blackshirts, neither the Swiss gendarmes, nor the Hitlerite SS men, struck by the unusual appearance of the passenger, will not pay attention to the bag and clubs, Dmitry Alexandrovich wrote under old age. – They will only look at the lord who bites! And so it happened: at the borders, the conductor was still hissing from afar to the representatives of the authorities “s-s-s!”and, choking, he talked about an extraordinary patient, the nun prayed without raising her eyes, the servant sat in the pose of a dog.

The group was most worried when the train was approaching the German border. However, the startled SS men only glanced at their passports and quickly, almost on tiptoe, slipped past. And if at least one glance fell on the tip of a machine gun muzzle, treacherously sticking out of the lid? But psychologically, the operation was designed by Bystroletov flawlessly, and the extravagant lord riveted all attention to himself.

There have been a lot of such tasks for almost 11 years of illegal work. But it still deserves a separate story. Because it was especially audacious for Kim, and his script would have been torn off with his hands in Hollywood. And with the main role in this spy thriller, the Soviet illegal Dmitry Alexandrovich Quickly letov coped perfectly…

And got decidedly drunk

I would like to tell you more about one of Bystroletov’s roles. However, this was told in his lectures to young people by the great and much more than Quickly by Letov, a well-known illegal Willyam Fischer, who has long and firmly entered the history of intelligence and not only under a false name (also the fate) of Colonel Rudolf Abel.

“Resourcefulness is a necessary quality of a scout. One of our comrades had to travel around Europe in the distant pre-war years using a Hungarian passport.

There are not so many Hungarians in the world, and obviously there are even fewer non-Hungarians who know this language. Comrade – and, according to legend, he was nothing less than an earl – invited to a weekend at the country estate of a noble English family. The guest, as expected, was met by Butler, the butler, escorted to the room intended for him, put things in the dressers and cupboards, and provided an opportunity to bathe and change clothes before appearing before the owners of the house.

Our hero put himself in order and went downstairs to the living room, where the hostess of the house was waiting for him. They greeted each other, and the lady said that she had invited a Hungarian baron from the Posol especially for him. «To make you feel good and so that you can talk in your native language », – she pleased the guest.

It was very nice of her, but it sounded the death knell for our friend. The situation is terrible! It is impossible to escape: things are laid out, and it is not so easy to leave the estate unnoticed. The nearest railway station is 10 km away. But the main thing is that in order to complete the task for which he sought to get acquainted with the owner of the estate, he could not run away. What to do? Pretendsuddenly ill? A doctor will come and expose you! And the Hungarian Baron will arrive anyway and will certainly sympathize in his native Hungarian. No, it won’t do. There was only one thing left: to get drunk before losing consciousness. It’s good that in English society, even the highest, there are a lot of people who are strictly drinkers. And our friend together with the owner – which was good luck for this venture – quickly and decisively got drunk.

He allowed himself to be taken to a designated room, where a servant carefully undressed him and put him in a bed, after which our Hungarian Count slept all Saturday evening and most of Sunday. After waking up and carefully questioning the servant, he made sure that the Hungarian had left, went down to the living room again, where he apologized to the hostess, publicly reproaching himself for such an obvious weakness for whiskey.

This story told by Abel-Fischer, entered into many intelligence textbooks. At that time, in the late 1960s, it was impossible to call a scout by his name.

And now it is possible to supplement Abel. The very Hungarian whiskey-loving count was none other than Dmitry Bystroletov, who was actually granted this title in Russia five days before October 1917. A descendant of the famous Tolstoy family, a Russian count, he turned into a count of domestic intelligence.

What kind of Patrol cars will the military police receive at bases abroad?

Armored car «Patrol». Photo: http://www.youtube.com/

The Russian military police, serving on the territory of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, will receive armored vehicles “Patrol” for armament. The vehicles «Patrol» on the  base of «KAMAZ » are practically invulnerable to mines, small arms and shrapnel. The vehicles plan to use them to escort convoys, patrol settlements and other tasks. The main deliveries of equipment are planned for this year.

Which of them are armored cars?

The armored car “Patrol” was created on the basis of a two-axle truck KamAZ-43502. With a length of seven meters, the car weighs about 12 tons and is capable of transporting up to ten personnel in full equipment and with a set of personal weapons. The armor withstands the hit of automatic and pistol bullets, as well as ammunition of large-caliber machine guns. If necessary, patrols can destroy barricades and even break through walls in buildings.

The sides of the machine are equipped with loopholes, and the structure itself can withstand the detonation of an improvised explosive device equivalent to 5 kg of TNT. The gas tanks of the new armored vehicles are covered with a special compound that allows you to tighten bullet holes. The body of the Patrols is made in the form of an armored capsule, which protects passengers from being hit by small arms.

What is the advantage over other machines?

The great advantages of the Patrol are the amount of space inside the body. As a rule, military policemen do not go on combat missions in a full squad. However, the dimensions of the Patrol allow you to take on board more equipment, equipment and ammunition.

Why does the military police need him?

The functions of the military police are not limited to maintaining law and order in the troops and influencing violators. In wartime, the Red Berets are also busy guarding facilities and escorting columns. And when serving abroad in peaceful conditions, military police patrol the area, they participate in the work of the centers for reconciliation of the warring parties, carry out humanitarian operations. Military police are also involved in Syria. Armored vehicles are necessary for her, since Patrols can be used in areas of intense hostilities or where the threat of terrorist attacks and shelling is high.

Which of the security forces uses “Patrols”?

A few years ago, “Patrols” entered the armament of the units of the Russian Guard. They are equipped with riot police units and patrol and post services that perform tasks to prevent mass riots. Armored vehicles for the Russian Guard are supplied without weapons installed on them, but with special light and sound signals.

Over time, the military also took a closer look at the novelty. The need for powerful and well-protected vehicles began to be especially felt at the beginning of last year, when, according to an agreement between Moscow and Ankara, joint patrols were organized in some areas of Syria.

The sacrifice game. The US is developing UAVs that simulate enemy aircraft

Company Exosonic signed a contract with the US Air Force to develop a silent supersonic drone demonstrator. The new drone will help American military pilots in training missions, where it will portray the enemy. Also, with the help of this project, technologies relevant to other innovative projects of the developer will be worked out: the liner and the presidential aircraft.

Exosonic has several quiet supersonic projects. The startup is going to build a 70-seat supersonic airliner and an airplane, which in the future will become supersonic “Board number one”. Supersonic UAV is actually an auxiliary project, the developers want to test a number of technologies on it. Working with this UAV will allow engineers to learn a lot about design, production and maintenance of supersonic aircraft. Such a development will give investors, suppliers and customers confidence that the company will be able to deliver supersonic aircraft to the market before anyone has to make multibillion-dollar investments. In addition, the company plans to invest the profits from the sales of UAVs in the future development of supersonic products.

Also, the new supersonic drones will be able to reduce the wear and tear of aircraft that are currently playing this role in exercises, and ease the flight load of pilots.

Today, the U.S. Air Force includes the 18th Squadron at the airbase Eilsen in Alaska, as well as the 64th and 65th squadrons of the “aggressors” at the Nellis Air Base in Nevada, which during the exercises most often imitate MiG-29 and Su-27 combat aircraft, as well as Chinese J-10 and J-11. But this is not enough to fully train the required number of pilots. The new UAV, equipped with a payload and various sensors, will participate in training flight missions, simulating a simulated enemy.

Today, several companies are developing quiet supersonic aircraft. For example, Lockheed Martin creates the X-59 aircraft. It will be distinguished by an aerodynamic design that will reduce the intensity of shock waves generated on the glider in flight. The elongated sharp nose, which completely blocks the pilots’ forward view, will also reduce noise.

The government notes that small business is becoming a new player in the supersonic aviation industrial base of California. They support the idea of Exosonic and promote the project.

Such projects may also be of interest to civil aviation, as the possibilities of reducing noise from aircraft have been considered for a long time. A quiet airliner can become an alternative to aircraft in large cities.

The term of the contract is 15 months.
