But on average, according to Vilfand, the synoptic autumn in the metropolitan region comes on August 22 or 23. This date can be shifted by 10 days, and in some cases by two weeks.
On average, the synoptic autumn lasts until October 15. Then comes the pre-winter, which on average lasts until October 25. And after it, winter begins.
