Microsoft founder Bill Gates has admitted that he made a huge mistake when he kept in touch with former financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of sexual crimes, reports TASS.
“I spent several dinners with him in the hope that his words about receiving billions for world health care through his contacts would turn out to be true,” he said.
In addition, he expressed regret that in the past he had allowed an inappropriate relationship with one of his employees.
Epstein was detained in New York State in July 2019. The prosecutor’s office said that in 2002-2005, he organized visits of dozens of underage girls to his home in Manhattan. The youngest victim was 14 years old. Among the friends and acquaintances of the financier were many current and retired officials of the United States and other countries, among them were ex-heads of state, major businessmen and stars.
The criminal prosecution of Epstein in the United States stopped after he committed suicide in prison in August 2019.
