Ecru is a neutral light shade that is widely used by designers of clothing and interiors.
What does the ecru color look like?
The word “ecru” is translated from the French (“cru”) as «raw», «unbleached». This term refers to the color of unbleached flax, i.e. pale grayish-yellow, with a greenish tinge, white. Ecru received this definition in the 19th century. Previously, écru was understood as one of the shades of beige.

How does ecru differ from other shades of white?
At first glance, the shades of white are very similar to each other, however, by placing these colors together, you can notice the following differences:
Ivory color
The color of ivory (or ivory), like ecru, has a yellowish tinge. However, the first one does not have a grayish-greenish undertone. In addition, the ecru will be darker than the ivory color.
Cream or milk color
The cream color also includes a slight yellowish tinge, but when compared with ecru, it will be barely noticeable. Cream or milk color is much closer to white than ecru.
Nude color
Nude color (from English. nude — «nude») — this is a solid beige shade that has many variations. It can be quite light and almost brown, depending on the desired effect. The lightest nude can resemble ecru, if there is enough yellow undertone in it.
