Canada has eliminated Boeing from the competition to replace its main fighters

The Canadian Ministry of Defense has eliminated the American company Boeing from the competition to replace its main fighters, CBC reports.

This information was confirmed to the correspondents of the TV channel by three sources at once.

According to the interlocutors, the military department considered that the Boeing Super Hornet fighter does not meet the requirements of the Canadian Air Force.

According to the channel, Canada now has to choose between the Swedish Gripen fighter and the American F-35.

It is expected that the first deliveries of new aircraft, which should replace the outdated CF-18 fighters, will begin in 2025. The amount of the contract may amount to about 15 billion US dollars.

Earlier it was reported that dozens of American F-35 fighters failed due to engine problems.
