FSSP told how many Russians cannot travel abroad because of debts

Dmitry Aristov, director of the Federal Bailiff Service, said that about 4.2 million Russians are temporarily unable to leave Russia due to accumulated debts, RIA Novosti reports.

“As of October 1 of this year, the temporary restriction on leaving the Russian Federation was in effect within the framework of 4.2 million enforcement proceedings,” he said.

Earlier it was reported that about 507 thousand Russians cannot leave the country because of alimony debts. According to the Federal Bailiff Service, the restriction of the right to travel outside the Russian Federation is one of the most effective measures to influence non-payers. 

We add that a register of alimony debtors may appear in the Russian Federation. The Ministry of Justice stated that criminal liability can be established for non-payers.
