The neighbor says that she bequeathed everything to her granddaughter, but set a condition: she will receive an apartment and money only after marriage and together with a cat. Is that possible?

“You can’t just bequeath an animal. But there is a loophole in the law – you can transfer it by inheritance along with other property. In this case, the granddaughter who accepted the apartment will not be able to give up the cat. Another thing is that it will not be possible to control her further actions in relation to the cat, explains lawyer Evgenia Kvartalnova. – And that’s what can’t be, so these are conditions and prohibitions to the heir. For example, it will be impossible to force a will to enter into a marriage, to name a child after the deceased, to choose a certain profession, and so on.».
