Kikina can set a national female record for staying in space

The only woman in the cosmonaut squad of Roscosmos, Anna Kikina, can set a national female record for staying in space in 2023, RIA Novosti reports.

According to the program, the Russian woman will go to the ISS on the Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft on September 21, 2022 and will stay at the station for 188 days until March 18, 2023.

Currently, the Russian women’s record for staying in space belongs to Elena Kondakova. She made two flights on the Mir space station with a total duration of 178 days.

The world record, in turn, was set by American Peggy Whitson, who spent a total of 666 days in space during three expeditions to the ISS.

Earlier it was also reported that the film crew of the Soyuz MS-19 spacecraft, consisting of director Klim Shipenko, actress Yulia Peresild and cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov, was allowed to prepare at the Baikonur cosmodrome.
