Matvienko: there are no grounds for tightening restrictions due to COVID-19

There are no conditions for tightening restrictions related to the coronavirus in Russia yet. This was stated by the speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko.

She clarified that there are no prerequisites for the introduction of a lockdown. At the same time, Matvienko reminded that the virus has not disappeared anywhere and it is impossible to relax.

According to her, the situation with the coronavirus is different in the regions. Somewhere the rate of morbidity is higher, so there will be some measures. In other regions, where this is not necessary, some restrictions will be lifted.

“It is no coincidence that the right to take certain measures has been transferred to the governors, the leadership of the regions, because they feel and see the situation,” TASS quotes the speaker of the SF.

Recall that over the past day, 19,706 cases of coronavirus infection were registered in the country. As previously noted in Rospotrebnadzor, the epidemiological situation remains quite stable, although tense. An increase in the incidence of coronavirus is recorded in 36 regions.
