Daughter Irina I took care of my mother as much as I could, but it was not easy to come every day and fully help her. Ida Ivanova was also visited by a social worker, who helped her solve household issues, but the elderly woman needed long-term care, which could only be provided by a certified nurse. The social worker offered the family to use the help of the nurse service, which recently opened at the city’s integrated center for social services of the population.

So in the life of Ida Matantseva, appearedAnastasia Shutova, who in February of this year was trained and qualified as a “Nurse”. Thanks to her, an elderly woman received full-fledged care right in her native walls. In the evening and at night, the nurse was replaced by Ida Ivanovna’s granddaughter. “In our absence, in the daytime, Anastasia took on all the care of our mother and grandmother and proved herself to be a caring person who has the necessary knowledge to take care of her,” said her daughter Irina.

This year, thanks to the national project “Demography”, 58 employees of integrated social service centers of the Kirov Region were trained under the “Care Assistant” program. Patronage». They learned how to properly care for bedridden people, feed them, provide hygiene services, properly equip their everyday life and space, and also recognize age differenceshealth changes in elderly wards. Now these employees can help people at home who need constant outside care. In total, 353 specialists of social services of the region will be trained in such skills this year. It is worth noting that in all complex centers of the region, citizens who need long-term daily professional care are provided with the services of a nurse for free.

“Elderly people who, due to illness or old age, have difficulties in self-care, of course, it is more comfortable to be at home, next to their loved ones, but relatives do not always know how to properly provide this or that help so as not to harm and not to cause pain,” noted Minister of Social Development of the Kirov Region Olga Shulyatyeva. Here they are helped by a nurse, so they can leave their relative alone without supervision and not worry about his condition, going on business or to work.

Houses are better

Social services at home with the participation of care assistants or nurses are already used in 49 regions of Russia. In order to take care of elderly people who are unable to take care of themselves, employees of social service centers undergo special training. This is an integral part of the system of long-term care for elderly citizens and disabled people being created within the framework of the national project “Demography”. In 2019-2021, such a system is being implemented in the pilot regions, and in 2022 it is planned to extend it to the whole country.

One of the pilot regions is the Tambov Region. Now 204 residents of the regional capital and the Tambov district use the services of nurses here. By the end of the year, their number should grow to 375. Employees of four non-profit organizations will take care of them completely free of charge, for which training is organized on the basis of the Tambov State University named after G. R. Derzhavin and the ANO Scientific Methodological Center. 187 employees of NGOs have already passed the program of future nurses.

In the city of Novy Urengoy, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, there is a school of nurses, which has already been trained by several dozen people. Most of them take care of their relatives, and now they know how to do it correctly. The full course consists of 12 classes where students will learn how to care for people with limited mobility who have suffered strokes, heart attacks, injuries, and also have serious diseases such as cancer or Parkinson’s disease.

“Often the elderly have poor health, they need care and help. But it happens that relatives and friends are not always there, says Olga Zagitova, a specialist in social work. Therefore, the services of a nurse are a guarantee of the peace of mind of relatives for a loved one.
