Belarusian and Russian fighter crews, as part of the verification of the reaction forces of the Union State, as part of mixed pairs, worked out the interception of border violators and air combat, the Belarusian Defense Ministry reported in Telegram.
The verification of the forces of the Union State is carried out on the Belarusian territory. At its first stage, by February 9, groups of troops will be relocated and created.
At the second stage, from February 10 to 20, joint Belarusian-Russian exercises “Allied Resolve-2022” will take place, within the framework of which they will work out the suppression and reflection of external aggression, as well as countering terrorism and protecting the interests of the Union State.
Earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko spoke about the main purpose of the joint exercises. He stressed the importance of the republic’s employees being able to use Russian military equipment.
NATO also announced the largest deployment of Russian military forces in Belarus. The alliance again called on Russia to de-escalate the situation around Ukraine.
In addition, it was reported that the S-400 air defense system “Triumph” arrived in Belarus on combat duty. The personnel of the complex will have to march to the landfill in the Brest region.
On February 1, the US State Department asked citizens not to travel to Belarus because of military exercises with the Russian Federation. The agency has issued a warning about the “unusual and disturbing” concentration of Russian troops along the Belarusian-Ukrainian border.
