Roman Romanenko with residents of the Yasenevo district cleaned the shore of the Marble Pond

The World Environment Day in the south-west of the capital was marked by the volunteer action “Ecological Kaleidoscope”. It was attended by State Duma Deputy, cosmonaut, Hero of Russia Roman Romanenko.

The holiday, organized by local volunteers, was held in the park of the 30th anniversary of the Yasenevo district.

According to Roman Romanenko, seeing our planet from space, you are especially aware of the responsibility of it. Addressing the participants of the environmental action, the deputy stressed that the protection of nature today is among the priorities of the Russian state policy, but everything should start with the careful attitude of each person to the environment.

The cosmonaut presented letters of thanks to the activists of the eco-charity project “Ecollife” – the local equivalent of the All-Russian campaign “Good Caps”.

The organizers said that they provide targeted charitable assistance with the money raised from the recycling of plastic bottle caps. So, at the holiday in Yasenevo, activists presented a new wheelchair to a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, Yefim Nikiforovich Drozdovsky.

The event continued with a subbotnik on the banks of the Novoyasenevsky or Marble Pond, as it is called in the district. Roman Romanenko together with local residents collected more than ten bags of garbage.

The Hero of Russia noted that thanks to the personal participation of each person in the environmental movement, it is possible to make our common home cleaner. “We must bear responsibility for our earth not only on holidays, but on a daily basis,” the cosmonaut stressed.
