A high-altitude cyclone established over Kuzbass caused the first snowfall. This was reported by the representative of the Kemerovo Hydrometeorological Center Natalia Poluektova, RIA Novosti reports.
Last weekend, rains and sleet hit the region. In the Central mine of the Tisul district, the height of the cover was 13 centimeters.
The meteorologist noted that snow in September is not an anomaly. She recalled that in 2015, wet snow fell in the Kemerovo region on September 14.
“But we haven’t had such a more saturated, wetter and heavier snow for a long time,” Poluektova said.
According to her, the severity of the first snow provoked a difficult situation on the roads and caused broken trees.
Recall that due to bad weather in Kemerovo, the movement of public transport was disrupted. Now work is underway to clean up fallen trees and broken branches, the city authorities and rescue services are busy eliminating the consequences of the disaster.
