The Hydrometeorological Center told which cities are threatened by floods

Cities in the lower reaches of mountain rivers are most affected by natural hazards, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand told RIA Novosti.

Among the coastal cities that are experiencing the maximum consequences of adverse weather, the meteorologist named Anapa, Gelendzhik, Sochi, as well as settlements of the Crimea.

Vilfand explained that it is not easy to predict the weather in mountainous areas, this is due to the difficult terrain and a large number of rivers. However, the most dangerous natural phenomena that affected the south of Russia were predicted by specialists of Roshydromet at least a day in advance.

The day before, the Hydrometeorological Center warned about dangerous weather in a number of Russian regions.
