The political scientist called the dismantling of the monument to Suvorov in Poltava a war with history

The political scientist commented on the dismantling of the monument to the Russian commander Alexander Suvorov in Ukrainian Poltava, writes RT.

“This is already a typical war with history,” said Natalia Eremina, professor of the Department of European Studies at the Faculty of International Relations of St. Petersburg State University.

According to her, in this way Ukraine is trying to deny the existence of common historical ties with Russia and thereby loses a significant part of its history and the pillars of the state.

“It is in cooperation with the Russians, with Russia, that Ukraine has reached incredible heights. Russian Russian everywhere you dig, wherever you go, you will find Russian everywhere, Russian in yourself,” the agency interlocutor added.

In January, a dismantled monument to Lenin was put up for auction in Ukraine. The starting price of the lot was about $14,000.

Earlier, the Latvian Seimas approved the introduction of fines for displaying Soviet equipment outside museums. The amendments provide for fines for individuals in the amount of 350 euros, and for legal entities – up to 2900 euros.
