The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation will allow to negotiate on alimony through messengers

The Plenum of the Supreme Court of Russia has prepared explanations on how to use correspondence in social networks and messengers as a pre-trial settlement. This is reported by the Russian newspaper.

For example, as evidence of an attempt to settle the issue of reviewing alimony with his ex-wife before the trial, a divorced man can provide correspondence in the WhatsApp messenger.

However, a number of conditions must be met. First, such a correspondence procedure should be a common practice of interaction between the parties. For example, if the husband and wife have previously corresponded in WhatsApp, the court will count such an attempt to pre-trial settlement of the dispute.

Secondly, the fact of applying through electronic services will need to be documented, that is, to provide a hard copy of the conversation with the address of the web page, the date of the printout, as well as to certify these papers.

It is noted that so far we are talking about the draft resolution. If the document is adopted, it will become a guide for the courts.

Earlier it was reported that Russia plans to create a register of debtors on alimony.Inclusion in the register of debtors will impose additional obligations on them and will automatically restrict their individual rights. For example, debtors will have to inform the bailiff about their intended trips.
