Ukraine will send its flag to the moon in 2022

Ukraine will deliver its national flag to the Moon next year as part of the first mission to the Earth’s satellite, which the country will carry out together with the British company Spacebit.

Earlier, the founder of Spacebit Pavel Tanasyuk said that Ukraine will take part in a mission to the Moon for the first time. Equipment for scientific research will be delivered to the surface of the Earth’s satellite, including measurements of the radiation level with a device developed in Ukraine. Also, Ukrainian-made parts will be used in the British lunar rover. The mission is part of the NASA program.

The website of “Ukroboronprom” reports that the flag will be printed on a 3D printer made of Ukrainian titanium. According to the concern, equipment will be sent to the moon to study the soil and collect information about thermal properties and the magnetic field.

Sensors produced at Ukrainian factories will collect information about the radiation background, and a special camera will broadcast video from the surface. All the data obtained will be available to Ukrainian scientists for the development of space programs.
