Water discharge on the Yenisei via the Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power station

From June 2 to 4, the Krasnoyarsk HPP opens additional gates and increases water discharge.

The second largest hydroelectric power station in Russia increased the discharge of water through the hydroelectric system to 6,500 cubic meters per second due to the high inflow on the Yenisei. The gates at the hydroelectric power station are opened to drain excess water that has exceeded the permissible levels due to snowmelt.

The level of the Yenisei continues to rise. A huge territory of Krasnoyarsk is already under water: flooding is recorded both on the left and on the right bank of the river, on the island of Rest-a park zone in the middle of the Yenisei. Experts predict extreme flooding on the Yenisei due to a large supply of snow in the mountains and prolonged rains in May.
