Seismologists recorded an earthquake near the Fiji archipelago, the strength of the tremors was 5.9, according to the data of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center.
The epicenter was located 731 km southeast of the capital of Fiji, Suva, where about 77.3 thousand people live. The center of seismic tremors lay at a depth of 185 km.
There was no information about the threat of a tsunami.
Meanwhile, in Haiti, at least 1,419 people became victims of the earthquake. Aftershocks of magnitude 7.2 on the Richter scale occurred on the territory of the country last Saturday.
