Cellular readiness. The most modern communication appeared on the M11

100% coverage of the M-11 motorway «Neva» is provided with high-quality cellular communication. Stable mobile internet is available throughout 669 kilometers of highway, which is critical for the safety and comfort of motorists.Tele2 operator has launched 100 additional 5G Ready stations on the highway. This allows it to provide LTE services of the highest quality and be technologically ready for the launch of fifth-generation services on the highway, which will be the first unmanned logistics corridor.

The new equipment made it possible to close the areas of uncertain reception and provide communication throughout all 669 kilometers of the road that runs through the territories of the Moscow, Tver, Novgorod and Leningrad regions. The traffic intensity on the motorway is about 30,000 vehicles per day.

As a result of the project, the operator has also dramatically improved the quality of communication in the settlements lying near the highway, such as Sitno, Vysoky Ostrov, Korpovo, Stegnovo of the Novgorod region and Georgievskoye of the Leningrad Region.

The project was implemented at the facilities of the infrastructure operator “Service Telecom”. At the same time, the network is built on 5G Ready equipment. The technology will allow in the future to quickly deploy coverage in the fifth generation standard. The operator’s infrastructure will also become the basis for ensuring the safe operation of unmanned vehicles. By 2024, the Ministry of Transport of Russia plans to implement the first unmanned logistics corridor in Russia on the M-11 highway.

“Covering the M11 highway is a strategically important project for us: we are not only improving the quality of communication for our customers right now, but we are also creating the potential for high-tech services in the future. Now users do not have to wait for the exit to the access zone on the M-11 highway: drivers can use navigation services all the way, and passengers can take part in video conferences. Our mobile Internet catches even on sites far from populated areas, which is especially important for the safety and comfort of any trip,” says Alexey Telkov, Deputy General Director for Technical Infrastructure and Information Technologies Tele2.

“Ensuring uninterrupted mobile communication of the country’s highways is one of the most important tasks in the implementation of many national projects, by 2024 the task is to ensure 100% radio coverage of all federal highways. Thanks to our cooperation, now on the M-11 highway “Neva” connecting the two capitals, subscribers canLTE technology, which means the whole range of digital services that we use every day. For „Service-Telecom“ provision of communication infrastructure in the highway right-of-way is one of the key areas of activity», — notes Nikolay Berdin, General Director of GC «Service-Telecom».
