Heavy rains were falling in the Kuban all night on August 13. The effect of the cyclone is predicted until the morning of August 16, the Ministry of Emergency Situations noted. An emergency situation is in effect in 14 municipalities.
As a result, 1,344 private households and 1,683 adjacent territories were flooded in 19 settlements.
The day before, it was reported that more than 930 children were evacuated from four rain-flooded camps in the Krasnodar Territory. In Sochi, all beaches are closed, local authorities have organized round-the-clock monitoring of the water level in rivers and warned citizens from areas of possible flooding to be ready for evacuation.
