The fungal disease mucormycosis, called “black mold”, like any other infectious agent, is dangerous when the immune system is weakened. This was told by the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova, RIA Novosti reports.
“High humidity and high temperature are not unusual, but in conditions of immune damage caused by COVID, and sometimes the tactics chosen can lead to the fact that the attachment of a secondary infection will be as critical as in India,” the expert warned.
In this regard, she called for compliance with the rules of prevention in the spread of the virus, namely, to wear personal protective equipment and use antiseptic.
Earlier, Rospotrebnadzor reported that Russians should not be afraid of this fungal disease, since India differs from the Russian Federation in both climate and food culture.
