The Ministry of Defense re-equips units of the Moscow region’s 1st Guards Tank Army with anti-tank missile systems (ATGM) “Chrysanthemum-S”. According to experts, such weapons are needed in the western direction, where NATO countries are strengthening their armored forces.
“Chrysanthemum-C” is considered one of the most effective means of fighting tanks. It is assumed that several vehicles of this anti-tank missile system are capable of resisting significantly superior enemy forces in defense. In battle, they are able to disrupt the offensive of the tank company.
Chrysanthemum ammunition can penetrate the armor of almost any modern combat vehicle, and dynamic protection, which contains a layer of explosive material located between two thin metal plates, does not save them. Due to the speed of the missiles, the complex is able to shoot down low-flying air targets and sink low-tonnage surface objects, including armored boats. In addition, “Chrysanthemum-C” is an effective means of destroying defensive structures.
The ATGM system is equipped with optical-laser and radar guidance channels, which allows you to hit targets in any weather conditions, even with complete lack of visibility. The multi-channel sighting system and its own radar make it easy to find even armored objects disguised in shelters. The machine is able to hold two objects at once at gunpoint.
The crew of “Chrysanthemum-C” is two people. The weight of the tank is 20 tons. The engine with a capacity of five hundred horsepower allows you to reach a speed of 45 kilometers per hour over difficult, rough terrain. On the highway, it will be able to accelerate 70 kilometers per hour. The power reserve is 600 kilometers. Transition fromthe marching position in the combat position is twenty seconds.
“Chrysanthemum-C” is the most powerful of all Russian ATGMs. The maximum firing range exceeds 10 km. The tempo is up to four shots per minute. The ammunition includes 15 anti-tank guided missiles 9M123 and 9M123F with a caliber of 155 mm and a weight of more than 60 kg.
