The head of the Ministry of Finance, Maksut Shadaev, told about the preparation for the introduction of a biometric passenger control system in Russian airports: & laquo;This means that when checking in at the airport, when performing any other actions where you need to show your passport, biometric identification will be possible. We are already discussing pilot projects with air ports to make check-in and boarding a flight faster.
But for the time being, it will not be possible to completely do without a passport when flying, since experimental identification by a person in this year will be carried out only at several airports, for example, Sheremetyevo in Moscow and Tolmachevo in Novosibirsk.
Passengers who voluntarily agree to participate in the experiment will pass through a special turnstile with a camera that compares their faces with an image previously entered in the Unified Biometric System (UBS). You will not need to present your ticket either. Of course, you must first leave the video scan of your face and your voice in this system, which is also done voluntarily. EBS was launched in Russia in 2018. You can submit your data to it in the office of a commercial bank.
