The new infectious diseases department is designed for the treatment of patients with coronavirus, it was built on the initiative of the Governor of the Samara Region Dmitry Azarov.

The decision to build a new infectious diseases department was made based on the forecasts of experts who predicted the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. The building of the building was built according to the modular type and was erected in the shortest possible time. Each ward of the building is an infectious box with its own ventilation system, a sanitary room in which a shower is installed. The inpatient department of the building is designed for 50 beds, there is also an intensive care unit for 20 beds and a reception and diagnostic unit. The opening of the new department was attended by Governor Dmitry Azarov and Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko.

“Now the country’s healthcare system is being re-equipped. The use of new technologies and the construction of modern medical buildings is the answer to the coronavirus pandemic. The Government of the Russian Federation has allocated 5 billion rubles to ensure that powerful diagnostic and laboratory complexes appear in each region, which have modern medical equipment in their arsenal, ” Mikhail Murashko noted.
Diagnostics at the level of
The new department is not only a medical center, but also a laboratory and diagnostic center. All patients who have been admitted with suspected coronavirus will undergo a comprehensive examination of the chest organs, CT diagnostics, ultrasound and laboratory tests.
“Our department is equipped with a new mobile ultrasound machine, on which all studies can be carried out, including the echo of the heart. This is very important in the treatment of patients with coronavirus, because one of the complications of this infection is arterial and venous thrombosis, ” says head of the Department of ultrasound diagnostics Leonid Misyur.

Dmitry Azarov thanked the doctors of the Togliatti hospital for their assistance in the early construction of the infectious diseases building.
“Today is a very important day. We are increasing the armament and equipment of the healthcare system, creating additional conditions for timely assistance to residents of the region. Thanks to the instructions of the President of the country Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, now five infectious cases have been built and are being built simultaneously on the territory of the Samara Region, ” Dmitry Azarov noted.

Recall that for the treatment of patients with coronavirus in the region, a similar medical complex was built in the Seredavin regional hospital in Samara. Another infectious diseases department is being built by the Federal Medical and Biological Agency in Togliatti. The construction of infectious diseases medical departments in Syzran and Samara has begun.
