Scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand warned that dangerous weather is expected in a number of regions of the Russian Federation, reports TASS.
“In the Irkutsk region, heavy and very heavy precipitation is expected in the form of rain, turning into sleet and even snow. In some areas, there will be a temporary snow cover. And on the coast of the Krasnodar Territory, on the territory of Sochi, heavy rains, showers with thunderstorms, hail and squally wind strengthening up to 22 m/s are predicted from Saturday. In addition, on Saturday and Sunday, there is a danger of tornadoes forming over the sea near Sochi, ” he said.
In addition, in the coming nights, frosts are forecast in some regions of the European part of Russia, and in the Asian part of the country, frosts have already captured a large territory.
Earlier, Vilfand said that the velvet season in Russian resorts will continue at least until the end of September. At the same time, the maximum air temperature will be from 18 to 20 degrees Celsius.
Earlier, the head of the Department of Meteorology and Climate of the Central UGMS, Nikolai Tereshonok, also warned Russians about the upcoming frosty winter.
