Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu addressed the servicemen with congratulations in honor of the Day of the Airborne Troops.
The head of the Defense Ministry stressed that the paratroopers played a key role in the most important battles. They passed the Great Patriotic War with honor, in the course of operations they always demonstrated courage, perseverance and selflessness.
The Minister added that the personnel of the Airborne Forces are distinguished by the highest level of training and impeccable combat skills. Paratroopers skillfully use modern weapons and are ready for decisive actions in the most difficult conditions.
The Minister of Defense expressed special words of gratitude to the veterans of the troops who “stood at the origins of the traditions of the amphibious brotherhood”.
On August 2, Russia celebrates the Day of Airborne Troops, which was established by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation on May 31, 2006.
Earlier, President Vladimir Putin in his congratulations noted that paratroopers quickly solve tasks in the most difficult situations, showing courage and bravery.
