Support for the future generation. Results of the youth section ” WEF.Junior”

From September 2 to 4, the youth section of the WEF was held at the site of the VI Eastern Economic Forum.Junior”, which brought together high school students, world business leaders and statesmen.

The section was organized by the Foundation for the Development of expert and analytical activities & laquo; Content», which held the event in Vladivostok within the framework of the project & laquo; Point Junior & raquo;with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Foundation « Roscongress»the NTI Circle Movement and the non-governmental development Institute « Innopraktika», the foundation « National Cultural Heritage»and the corporation « Synergy».

At the event, the participants discussed the issues of integrating the younger generation into the global agenda of the WEF. The forum brought together 10 events of the business program, where much attention was paid to discussing issues of improving the quality of education, youth entrepreneurship, work in industrial corporations, the influence of cultural spaces and creative industries on the development of regions, career guidance and popularization of science among young people.

Among the experts who took part in the discussions at the WEF.Junior», were: President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Sergeev, President of the National Cultural Heritage Foundation Natalia Volynskaya, Director of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, Minister of Culture of Primorsky Krai Elena Bronnikova, State Secretary-Vice President, PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel Dmitry Pristanskov.

The forum allowed young people to take part in a world-wide event, receive mentoring support from leading representatives of the professional community, and also become part of an open dialogue of cultures together with guests from other countries. Some participants of the “WEF”.Junior ” right at the meetings with the speakers of the forum received offers of internships and support for their projects.

Events of the WEF Youth Section

On September 4, a panel discussion was held on the topic “Secondary vocational education: a driver for the development of the territory”. During the session, the issues of social responsibility of companies and building an effective model of vocational education and employment of graduates with disabilities based on the successful practice of the competitive movement “Abilimpics” were discussed. Separately, the participants of the discussion spoke about the comprehensive modernization of the secondary vocational education system and the transition to an industry-specific model of personnel training. 

A panel discussion was also held at the WEF site on the implementation of major cultural and socially significant projects that contribute to the development and dissemination of Russian culture in different regions of the country. The discussion was organized with the support of the National Cultural Heritage Foundation. Prominent figures discussed how the opening of new cultural and sports facilities can positivelyinfluence the architectural appearance of the city, what new tools for development in the native region should be given to young people and how to reduce the outflow of young people. During the discussion, special attention was paid to the specifics of regional cultural policy and the influence that large federal socially significant objects have on the demography and the prospects for the development of the region, creating a kind of growth centers.

In addition, there was also an open career guidance discussion “My profession is a scientist”. The discussion was organized with the support of the Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in the Scientific and Educational Spheres of the Presidential Council for Science and Education, the Center for the Development of Scientific and Educational Initiatives, the Science-ID platform and the Presidential Grants Fund.

“My profession is a scientist” is a project aimed at increasing the interest of modern youth in the activities of Russian scientists, increasing the prestige of the scientist’s profession and career guidance for high school students through meetings with scientists working in various fields of science. Within the framework of the project in this and the nextThis year, career guidance meetings with scientists working in various fields of science will be held in 8 federal districts of Russia. During the discussion, scientists working in various fields of science told about their activities, discussed the features of building a career in science and the prospects of such a career, and the audience could ask all the questions of interest.

Separately, we can highlight the meeting on the sidelines of the WEF of the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov with the participants of the “WEF”.Junior”, during which the guys discussed with the minister the issues of concern to them related to the economy and industry of the country.

In addition, a business game “Game of Goals. 17 goals for transforming our world” was held. The game brought together schoolchildren to search for new bold projects and solutions that ensure sustainable economic growth, which will not lead to the exhaustion of unique natural resources, but will preserve and increase the natural wealth.
