Assistance to social initiatives and support for NGOs. Projects of the Innosocium Foundation at the WEF

The main topic presented by the Innosocium Foundation at the Eastern Economic Forum from September 2 to 4 was the issues of the social agenda in the conditions of the formation of an innovative economy in modern Russia.

During the speakers ‘presentations at the sessions” Creative industries for economic breakthrough: the experience of the regions”, “Open dialogue with the regions on the development of traditional art industries”, “Art window to Asia: strategies and prospects for building sustainable economic relations”, ” Stratsession: Vladivostok is the center of Euro-Asian Fashion 4.0 & raquo; andThe presentation of the Vladivostok Fortress project considered economic and technological innovations, public initiatives and the activities of NGOs as factors for the successful implementation of projects. The participants of the events noted how important it was for the development of creative industries to attract the support of such national development institutions as VEB and ASI.

More than a hundred people took part in the events of the social platform of the Innosocium Foundation as speakers, moderators and facilitators. The sessions and discussions organized by the foundation were attended by over 500 participants of the WEF-2021. More than 200 thousand people were able to see live video broadcasts of the sessions of the creative business forum. The coverage of publications in social networks amounted to more than 6000 unique users.

Experience in implementing successful social projects

On September 2, a model project for the restoration of the state museum-reserve of the Vladivostok fortification complex was presented as a successful experience in designing creative industries based on local identity.

Also on September 2, a stratsession “Vladivostok” center of Euro-Asian fashion 4.0 ” took place. The participants ‘attention was focused on the implementation plan of the pilot project” Cyberattels and distributed factories ” in Primorye. The participants of the session assessed the prospects for the transition of the regional fashion and light industry to a new environmental andtechnological model of development, drivers of development of the Asian fashion market, issues of modernization of business and enterprises of the region. Special attention was paid to the discussion of plans to replace the outdated traditional production model, functioning on the principle of “get, use, throw away”, with a new model: a circular economy, or a closed-cycle economy. 

On the same day, an open dialogue was held between the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Gulnaz Kadyrova with the regions of the Far Eastern, Siberian, and Ural Federal Districts on the development of traditional art industries. The participants of the meeting discussed the issues of preserving and developing folk art crafts and creating unique regional brands and modern products based on them.

And on September 3, a discussion was held on the topic ” Multilingualism in cyberspace. The national vector of creative industries”. The participants of the event agreed that the preservation of indigenous languages and the development of linguistic and cultural diversity are achievable using the opportunities of creative industries that form new approaches both in the traditional environment and in cyberspace.

Discussion of social development issues at the forum

The stand of the laboratory “Innosocium” provided the forum guests with the opportunity to discuss important issues and become participants in discussions on socially significant topics. The social track presented the topics “The Economy of happiness: public initiatives for the development of the regions” and “The Far East on the way to 2030: distributing the responsibility of government, business and society”. The participants of the discussions noted the importance of involving business in the social development of the state, discussed how to stimulate responsible consumption and a sustainable lifestyle among residents of the Far East. 

The event of the Eurasian Women’s Forum was also organized in the format of a visiting lounge. During the meeting «Continuous development: a choice or a necessity for women leaders?”the issues of women achieving leadership positions in business, the need for continuous education and professional self-improvement throughout their career were raised.

In order to study and exchange best practices in the implementation of social projects, as well as to reduce barriers in the activities of non-profit organizations, the Innosocium Foundation, together with the Presidential Grants Foundation, devoted a separate day, on September 4, to the work of the NGO Laboratory. Representatives of more than 50 NGOs whose initiatives are aimed atsolving socially significant tasks in culture, healthcare, ecology and the social sphere, discussed new areas for cooperation in the Far East, ways to attract resources, building connections through competent presentation and networking basics, and also shared with colleagues best practices for successful implementation of projects.

During the work of the WEF-2021, the Innosocium Foundation concluded a cooperation agreement with the Creative Industries agency. In the near future, we plan to jointly develop programs to improve the regulatory and legal regulation of the creative industries and promote the development of the creative economy in Russia.
