The Cabinet of Ministers supported the project on extending the maximum service life of generals

The Russian government has approved a bill that allows the head of state to increase the age limit for military service for a marshal, army general and fleet admiral. This is reported by TASS.

“The government of the Russian Federation supports the bill,” the government review says.

The corresponding draft was submitted by President Vladimir Putin to the State Duma in July of this year. It follows from the document that a new contract with senior officers can be concluded before they reach the age of 70 years. Now the maximum age of military service for them is 65 years.

It should be noted that the current officers do not have the ranks of marshals. There are five senior officers in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation who may serve an unlimited period of time. Read more about this in the article АиФ.ги.
