The specialists of the Vector Center received real images of the delta strain of coronavirus for the first time, the press service of Rospotrebnadzor reports.
The photos were taken with an electron microscope camera.
The report notes that the virus was artificially grown on the culture of the epithelial cells of the kidney of the African green monkey.
The delta strain has remained the dominant strain in the world for a long time. It is considered the most contagious of all variants of the new coronavirus.
Earlier, Rospotrebnadzor noted that the delta strain of coronavirus accounts for almost 100% of all circulating strains in Russia. More dangerous variants of coronavirus have not yet been recorded in the country.
