The defender of the former journalist and adviser to the head of Roscosmos Ivan Safronov, accused of treason, Ivan Pavlov, said that the investigation believes that the person involved, once at large, can leave the Russian Federation with the help of foreign special services.
“According to FSB investigator Alexander Chaban, once at large, Ivan can hide on the territory of diplomatic missions or consulates, and later, with the help of foreign intelligence officers, leave the territory of the country,” RIA Novosti quotes the lawyer as saying.
Pavlov noted that the judge referred to the position of the investigation during the announcement of the decision on the extension of the arrest.
Recall that the adviser to the head of Roscosmos, & nbsp; ex-journalist & laquo; Kommersant» and & laquo;Vedomosti & raquo; & nbsp; Ivan Safronov was detained last summer. The FSB believes that he was recruited by the Czech special service.
Safronov is accused of treason.On June 30, 2021, the Moscow City Court granted the request of the investigation and extended Safronov’s detention until October 7.The day before, lawyer Dmitry Katchev said that the ex-journalist would not make a deal with the investigation.
