Work on the creation of a centralized bank of biometric data of Russians and foreigners continues, TASS reports with reference to the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
The information system is being created as part of the implementation of the National Security Strategy of the Russian Federation. The deadline for completing the work is 2023.
The bank of biometric data will allow to carry out the procedure of identification of a person. The system should combine the resources of fingerprint and phonoscopic information, DNA analysis laboratories, biometric identification complexes and vehicle movement recording.
Earlier it was reported that in five regions of Russia, the Ministry of Internal Affairs began to use a system for recognizing people’s faces and silhouettes of cars. Also, the agency continues to work on a draft law providing for an increase in the shelf life of fingerprints of Russians until they die or reach the age of 100.
