The oldest polar bear in North America has died

A polar bear, considered the oldest among those kept in North American zoos, has died in the United States. This is reported on the Milwaukee County Zoo’s Facebook page.

The animal named Snow Lilly was euthanized at the age of 36. As noted in the zoo, this decision was made due to the deterioration of the health of the bear.

According to the Association of Zoos and Aquariums of the United States, the average life expectancy of polar bears in captivity is 23.4 years.
