Two Russian Tu-22M3 bombers conducted patrols in the airspace of Belarus, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported.
The flight lasted about four hours. During this time, issues on solving joint tasks with aviation and air defense forces of the Armed Forces of Belarus were worked out.
The military department stressed that all the tasks have been fully completed. After completing the maneuvers, the planes returned to Russia.
The day before it was reported that the Belarusian and Russian fighter crews, as part of the verification of the reaction forces of the Union State, worked out the interception of border violators and air combat.
Recall that the verification of the forces of the Union State is carried out in two stages. At the first stage, groups of troops will be relocated and created before February 9. At the second stage, from February 10 to 20, joint exercises will take place.
Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu positively assessed the actions to transfer the grouping of troops of the Eastern Military District to Belarus. According to him, everything is organized “just brilliantly”.
