On February 8, it will be at a distance of just over 5 million kilometers from the planet and theoretically can cause serious damage in the event of a collision, according to NASA.
The orbit 2007 UY1 crosses the Earth’s orbit from the inside. However, this asteroid is not considered dangerous. According to calculations, the theoretical probability that it may collide with our planet is very small.
Meanwhile, scientists from the United States recently discovered a potentially dangerous asteroid 2022 AE1 with a diameter of 70 meters. Its collision with the Earth may occur on July 4 next year. The probability of this is one in 1700.
